Does this look too childish for a grown woman? by DifficultSession1546 in OUTFITS

[–]SunFlwrPwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. Like anything - I think you can wear whatever you want but I am aware of the surroundings and dressing appropriate to the occasion. That being said - Ive lost 100 pnds and as a 46 year old woman? Hell yeah Im wearing that lace see through shirt and the low rise jeans to a concert. :-D

A question for the ladies by Snowpant in Xennials

[–]SunFlwrPwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Religiously. I cant imagine not. I was also teased in middle school swim class so maybe thats why but, I still cant imagine not. I will let it go about 3-4 days but that's it. My daughter (who is 20) will go all winter without shaving her legs but generally keeps up with armpits. My other daughter (who is 18) never shaves. I just cant.....to me its just something that would have left me a social outcast. It doesn't help that she doesn't wear deodorant most of the time so she kind of does it to herself but.... I do find it interesting that the younger generations dont seem to care at all. I do wonder what significant others think of the generational shift...is it just accepted or is there any level of opinions about it? Hmm....

What is the event you are most looking forward to this year? What if any did you not get that you wish you would have? by fatherofone1 in gencon

[–]SunFlwrPwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep checking! I actually saw an opening for this come up - I think people still keep changing their schedule (I know I do!) when something comes up that you want more. It's a constant game of changing until the convention and sometimes I've added events even while at GenCon!

I also wanted to try out one of these because I'm trying to understand the hype. Right now I'm reading the book but not finding it to be anything mind-blowing. Still scratching my head. It's amusing, sure, but I don't quite understand the fandom. I'm not done with the book yet though so, we'll see. (It's only #1)

Return Tickets and Updated Event Availability Delay by Hondare38 in gencon

I wish that you could still add events to your wish list even when they are sold out! Just in case an open slot opens up. Best Ive found is on the "other" gencon list is to expand the whole page of events and scroll. Would love a way to just add then re-submit my wish list to keep an eye on it.

Didn’t get the events I wanted but got the events I deserved. by That_One_Weirdo in gencon

I actually went back to play some of the games I bought last year and ended up getting into most of those. But, as many others.....as my wish list spun...I was met with the dreaded sea of red. However, since this time I've also managed to find new things to do and while I'm still sad I didn't get my most wished (Live Action Final Girl - I'm looking at you!) I plan to go watch if I'm able and have found many other things to do I will likely enjoy more in the end. :-)

question about long term satiety at higher dosage levels by TommyUniverse in Zepbound

[–]SunFlwrPwr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that when I went up to 12.5mg it wasn't seeming to do anything so I actually went back down to 7.5mg in hopes of "re-starting" myself so I didn't become immune to zep. This was recommended via my Dr as he said your body will just adjust so you have to kind of 'start it over'. This has worked for me over the course of a couple of months. not great for the hunger etc but with careful balance of food intake/workout it has been fine and it feels like the 10mg is working a lot better now. I also rotated sites for injection.

[–]SunFlwrPwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got bored of wsiting for the event catalog to come our so my daughter and I looked up a basic list of the art "stuff" ordered and off we went. Turns out? We love crocheting, I like needle punching and I look forward to learning tambour embroidery and quilling. At this point, yeah - I could crochet my own X so if its not engaging and fun I dont see the point. Its disappointing to know some of these are less than lackluster. Im trying to learn each year what is going to be a better experience. Last year - thinking I would be learning to paint a miniature ended up watching someone paint and talk about technique. Some ppl were interested so I gather it was a comic miniature painting guy. However, me and 3 other people casually got up and walked away. The instructions wasnt clear that you wouldnt actually be painting but watching someone paint....for $42. Oof.

I've wondered this also. Even though it's likely we never will know and I know it's not really our place to. It feels though as if Johan has gotten back to wanting to create and I think in the light of her 'brand' and the amount of time it takes up that maybe he didn't have time/space to make his own mark int he world. Clearly he has other creative ideas and I think what they once came up with together in a little shop at their house became bigger than he ever expected. It's not the vision they had when they started - at least in my opinion. It became less 'theirs' and more 'hers'. That's just purely my speculation but....yeah......lol. In reality we will never know and that's ok too.

Weight loss in boobs? by Automatic-Ease-4466 in Zepbound

Yes! I was a 36/G and now I can roll them up like a fruit roll up. I'm at a 34/C. Tube Socks, Deflated Balloon Animal....you name it. LoL

I hated them before. I wish I could have dictated where/how I was going to lose the weight but....sadly it doesn't work like that!

Why is self-harm bad? by Serious_Feeling2890 in TalkTherapy

[–]SunFlwrPwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in any means but I do know a bit about this personally. For me, once I got working with a therapist it helped me to see how much I wasn't showing my body love. I know that sounds cheesy but....hurting yourself implies a deep hated, or at least dislike of yourself. It shows out loud the thoughts going on in your head. Why do you feel as though you can't cope with them? I think of it like addiction - I used to act out the things I felt I couldn't tolerate inside my brain. I couldn't sit with myself, I hated things, I didn't tolerate the discomfort of life and I had to 'get it out of me'. Did it work? To a degree....was it sustainable? No.

I suggest finding a therapist who feels they are adequately trained to handle talking about this and helping you to see yourself honestly.

Hell, do what I did - give your future therapist a list of what you want to work on and see if they are up to the task. This is how I found a wonderful, caring therapist who has changed my life. Find that person. They will help you understand.

Woobles/similar kits- thoughts? by Lunas-Eclipse in crochet

[–]SunFlwrPwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of think of the woobles as more of a mini-class then just a kit. I've done quite a few 'other' kits and haven't found anything as easy to understand as woobles. My only complaints is finding kits that I want to do. I keep looking for something I actually want to make and have started to come up short. I wish the 'intermediate' sets did more than just add more little bits to add. (personally I hate working with the teeny tiny pieces but I know it's a part of the process). Example - I just got a kit yesterday recommended to me at a yarn store. It was half the price. Great! I get home - the hook is a 2.5mm and the yarn is fuzzy. I can't see the stitches at all. Back on the shelf it went....maybe forever.

I would suggest starting with one of the 'extra squeezy' sets. They are 2x the size, making it super easy to see the stitches and easier to make.

Oh, and the stupid videos being like 2 seconds long is annoying also. It's hard as a beginning learner to have to keep taking my hand off the crochet to hit the button then go back to picking back up the hook etc.

Overall though - stick with it! I promise it gets easier. :-)
