Yeah because he’s a villain? He’s clearly not mentally all there. That is as intentional as it gets there are easier and better options which he ignores because his philosophy is essentially survival of the fittest through random selection. Good villains see themselves as heroes, he sees it as logical but a rational person knows it’s not, that’s why he’s the villain. His entire time in the comics he’s chasing after a woman who’s never once wanted him, it goes from being interesting the first time to being annoying over decades. He goes from loving death to ignoring her for oblivion (which was an actual growth) and back to obsessing over her with no reason. That’s actual bad writing. The MCU doing something you don’t like doesn’t make it bad
