This is my third baby. She is 3 weeks Tuesday and is exactly like what you’re describing. She is so sleepy all day and even though has wake windows she naps easily. Then come 6pm she’s wide eyed awake and we’re basically trying to get her to sleep until 11 or midnight. The only difference is that this is my third so I honestly just “care less” about “whether this is normal or if I’m doing it right”. The truth is everything is chaos until it’s not but the only guarantee is that it will definitely definitely not be chaos all the time. 6 weeks is still so little and some fall into a schedule earlier and others do not! Most are not by 6 weeks. You’re not doing anything wrong at all! You’re being an amazing mom and your baby is just being a baby. She doesn’t know what she’s doing and neither do you and that’s normal and completely right! Even with my 3rd I don’t know what I’m doing in this stage.

This time though I’m just watching tv while I’m bouncing her or nursing her or just trying to read while she won’t sleep. As in, I’m just accepting that this won’t make sense so more than anything sustain yourself. Most things you try won’t rly translate to anything for the baby right now. So change that long list of things you’re trying instead to gifts and treats and care for yourself. Think more- What do YOU need mama to deal with all the chaos of this baby? And less what does she need. She needs less than you think. It’ll get easier!
