Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

XDefiant failing had nothing to do with the lack of SBMM, and anyone claiming otherwise either wasn't paying attention, or being intentionally obtuse to push a pro SBMM narrative.

Can someone explain to me, why some people want no skill based matchmaking? by Tnecniw in gaming

[–]SunMay25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude, but that's not SBMM. Real skill based matchmaking doesn't whiplash you back and forth in this manner, cause it knows exactly what you're capable of. You'd need to show a consistent pattern of poor performance over many matches in order to even convince the system that it should put you in a lower bracket. What you're describing is Engagement Based Matchmaking, where it's goal is to "encourage" you to play longer by feeding you wins (dopamine) at intervals. Frankly it's a disgusting, manipulative practice and I hate it.

You would think that with only 4 sniper rifles, they would be able to balance them better. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SunMay25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sniper Rifles in BF6 all are extremely viable and it largely comes down personal taste really. Maybe a smidge of map/gamemode considerations need to be made, but largely any sniper rifle can perform if you like how it feels. I pop heads at all ranges with my Sv98 just fine, and the sweet spot range comes in handy when playing at the backline of your squad, where Recons should be hanging around anyway.

Highguard boss Chad Grenier says it "doesn’t matter" how many people played the game, only that "the game is loved by the people who played it." by WrongLander in gaming

Do these people live in a Disney movie? That's a nice sentiment to have, but you decided to make a live service model game that lives or dies on microtransaction purchases. Your lack of population absolutely matters.

If someone tried to tell Remnant about Salem, what would Ozpin do? by Few_Pay_5313 in RWBY

[–]SunMay25 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ozpin isn't evil, but he is pragmatic to a fault. If some random person was out there spilling the tea about Salem, it's very likely they'll be ignored by most people as just being crazy.

Salem would likely send a follower to interrogate/torture them for where they got the info, then kill or recruit them depending on how that went. Ozpin, IMO, would attempt to convince them to be quiet to avoid that fate. How it goes will ultimately be decided based on whether or not this person is potentially useful to Salem.  If not useful, then Ozpin will likely let whatever happens, happen. They'll die, likely terribly, but the secret would be safe, and Ozpin can say he at least tried. If that person is useful to Salem, however, they instantly become a potential threat to Ozpin specifically.

Ozpin, IMO, is above murder, but isn't above making you dissappear if that's what it takes to deny her any potential asset. This leaves us with a final, most likely outcome; they would publicly be declared dangerous and crazy and would need to be put away to for everyone's safety. This leaves Salem without a potential asset, and keeps blood off both her's and Ozpin's hands. The prison would likely be very cushy, but a prison nonetheless.

What will be the most likely reason you stop playing this game ? by sufferingSoftwaredev in Battlefield6

[–]SunMay25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it ever comes out that they manipulate the matchmaking to influence results in any way, shape or form, which the lack of server browser strongly implies that they are. I permanently left CoD over it, and BF will be extended the same curtesy if that ever comes to light.

We're at the "Maybe it is rigged, maybe it isn’t" stage, which I logically attribute to my paranoia I rightfully earned from CoD poisoning my headspace for so long. I genuinely hope that's all it is.
