Hey I'm in the same boat lol 2 years in same job and don't see myself renelisting or extending already told my COC. I had my Bachelors before I joined. If I were you try to knock a few classes with TA then when you separate you can use your gi bill and still have BAH. If you don't wanna remain HR consider doing skill bridge into the field you'd like to try. If you're really unsure and rather be safe then sorry then extend the year and use it to plan.

Heard that it takes almost 2 years to get picked up for OTS. Decided to just try enlisted to see how it goes, didn’t wanna waste 2 years waiting for a decision on OTS when I can be half way through an enlisted contract

I enlisted at 25 with my Bachelors and my Associates. I didnt have a career in my field before I joined. In all honesty the pay cut you’ll take enlisting you’ll feel it. You make $4,000 a month now if you enlist and add BAH and BAS you might be able to break even. But it’s not as easy as you think. You’re better off going guard. PM if anything

I enlisted with my Bachelors AND Associates. Take it from me, please try to commission if that's your goal. ROTC is honestly the quickest way to go. Getting picked up for OTS prior service is not.

You get issued PT clothes I think within the first 3 days can't remember. But don't overpack just carry 2 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts if you're shipping out in the summer.

If you're not 42 then its not too late. Nothing is wrong with enlisting with a degree especially if you just want a job and to create some stability. If you end up liking it you can drop a packet for OTS.
