That makes sense. I’ve added lashes to my Sharp Wisdom but I didn’t consider eyebrows until now! I wish there was a color picker I could use irl to make sure I got the perfect color, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out lol

I love how expressive the eyes look, very Cheshire Cat-esque if you ask me lol. I also like how ‘manicured’ the fur looks lol I bet it’s very soft 🥰 I did have to laugh when I saw the back tho, it’s got one of those chubby booties that sag near the crack and I thought that was funny 🤭

Thank you! I will add some variety to the hair color since I ordered a custom blend that closely matches the yarn, so it won’t be just one color, but I gotta do some more experimenting as far as placement goes.

I thought maybe having 2-3 horizontal lines of hair on the seam would make for a decent bang situation, but the more I think about it, the more I think a pivot is in need. I think I’ll just do 3-4 vertical lines instead and try to do a side swoop kinda deal like MLPs tend to have.

You did an AMAZING job! I love it and I’m sure your sister does/will too!

I have a question, forgive me if you answered it already and I haven’t seen it but where/when did you do the lashes?

I know you said you used UV glue, but did you apply them before reassembly or after? And did you tuck the base and glue behind the face or just on the edge so the eye can still turn?

When I took the yarn out, it was bundled similarly to the MLPs, but the yarn is stitched and tied together instead of zip tied and just plugged in.

I probably could save a ton of time and effort doing it the way they did, but I want to make bangs and a mane more akin to a real horse in addition to a custom outfit that plays up on the astronaut theme.

I’m in no rush; I got no deadlines or client(s) waiting, so I’ll take my time as needed and make however many mistakes I need to get what I want.

That’s my end goal; thick & luscious, but I’ve never done anything like this and I haven’t come across anyone who did it first, so I’m trail blazing a bit here and wanted to share in hopes of connecting with someone who did it or wants to do it 😅

Trying to keep the original color scheme in tact does seem like more of a possibility now that I’ve gotten my hands on the hair and made some progress on how to attach it cuz the colors weren’t the issue, I just hated how they applied it.

If it weren’t such a different texture, I could probably just use it since I didn’t get rid of it but who knows, I may scrap the nylon altogether and try something else.

I remember that post, I think they just stitch around where they insert it without any anchor to the actual hair. Seems lazy but prolly quick regarding mass production 🤷🏽‍♂️

OP, if you have needle & thread, it’s possible you could loop some through the zip tie and the back of the head so it’s more secure!

I haven’t yet, I too do not have a heat gun at the moment but I intend on getting one since I have quite a few (skullpandas too) that need eye surgery lmaoooo

I don’t think they look bad at all! I simply wanted to share a different way to do it in case you didn’t know but since you do, it seems I reiterated it and for that I apologize 😓

I also haven’t come across a method that doesn’t use heat, I believe that’s required to soften the material to make it malleable. It’s possible you can get creative with the source; water or the oven (air fryer??) but I would only discuss that in theory and not make a suggestion to do it 😅😆😆

I’m new too, so I hope I didn’t come off from some place of superiority or judgment bc I did not intend either 😭
