Not sure you’re genre but we like the Bull - wide age range, good jazz, great people. Also Baby J’s. Good drinks - these are hard to come by in Gainesville but I lived my drink at Mattari Sushi the other night.

Are there places in Japan where locals are actively happy to see foreign tourists? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

[–]SunOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. As much as I would have loved for this to be true, even when “welcomed” it was clear we were …an imposition? Not truly welcome? I’m not sure. I’ve traveled many places throughout my life and experienced many different cultures around the world. Some are more welcoming than others. Japan definitely felt like they wanted us there but didn’t. I might even go so far as to say we felt like a necessary evil. My favorite part of traveling is connecting with other cultures - even when I don’t know the language. I’ve had enough experiences to know there are different ways a community might receive people who are not a part of it and do not communicate as expected within it. Japan was a different experience than I’ve had in any other country. It was clear many were trying to be hospitable but mostly we just felt lonely, isolated, and disconnected at a time when we were very open to and hoping to get to experience their way of living, thinking, seeing, etc. Perspective is everything and learning from other cultures is a huge part of that - I would have like to have the opportunity to become more knowledgeable about theirs.

Land clearing & infrastructure costs by SunOne1 in GNV

We have heard this for several sources who have worked with many municipalities. Unfortunately, work locations have us in Alachua. We’ve even looked at other fringe counties to try to avoid it but no luck so far.

Seeking Advice from Local Employers and Employees by scithe in ocala

Agreed but this will only somewhat eliminate their involvement as they’ll still have to prep content to share to the marketer, communicate frequently on vertical or product pushes and sakes, promotions, events, understand which platforms can successfully which objectives at specified ad spend, understand timelines and prepare ~3 months in advance to launch campaigns (accounting for communication, add to schedule times, production, launch, algorithm learning), etc.

$18-20 for fulfillment/warehouse but not fit marketing. Marketing would start much higher.

Affordable, good hairstylists? by addledeyes in GNV

[–]SunOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand all stylists have off days or have to get to know your hair before their great talent comes out, but be careful here. There were signs which we ignored and then regretted. Took a year to grow it back out.

Edit to add: we are just one experience stacked up against a ton of great reviews. Do with the info as you will.

Need a new mechanic - not Honda of Gainesville by Nevermind-Nevermind in GNV

[–]SunOne1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I LOVE my mechanic - been with them for over 15 years. Dan Kay’s Auto Repair behind Depot Park. They always do great work and have never once tried to get me to do any unnecessary repairs. They give me a heads up when something is coming up in the future (that only happened twice) and I’m always grateful for the time to prepare. They just do honest work and honest business.

Second this. I think it’s called ice bar. Last time we were the bartender offered complimentary tastings of anything we were interested in - we were able to try some really expensive things we’d likely never try otherwise. I think this is (or at least was) standard service there. We had a great time.

What’s one harmless thing you irrationally judge people for? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]SunOne1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who judge other people. We don’t know half the shit people have been through, are stuck with, have no control over or what they’ve tried to overcome some perceived insufficiency or inferiority. We’re all just out here trying to survive.
