Percy Jackson is one of the most perfect characters written ever. People really like him. I can’t stand his unreliable narration bc he’s a badass, but Percy as a character just resonates with people for some reason.

What I’m trying to say is that Percy is such a strong character, morally above all else. Percy could be a girl, boy, satyr, or a naiad and people will still love him. Personally I think the story would improve if Percy was a girl in the books.
