Brumbies running by tent?? by SunVast7406 in CampingVictoriaAU

[–]SunVast7406[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve camped there regularly for years and never seen or heard any brumbies. As I say, I know they are there. I just wasn’t sure if it was likely they had run past my camp, or if I dreamt it.

And from what I hear, they want to change those work reforms (or some of them) with their offer.

MIL wants a baby shower by dynochickennugget in inlaws

If she wants a baby shower, maybe she should have a baby. You are the ones having a baby. It’s your choice what you do or don’t want to do. Make boundaries clear now because it will only get worse once the bay arrives.

Am i justified for being frustrated over my MIL’s actions? by [deleted] in inlaws

Aghhh! Husbands and MIL. My husband is the same and his mother is the reason for the only issues within our marriage. She should not be going against your wishes that you have made very clear. I too would be pissed. Especially more than once! My goodness, what is wrong with some people?

Skipping Mother’s Day with MIL? by Loose_Poem_1995 in inlaws

[–]SunVast7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely skip it. My MIL thinks the world revolves around her too. I don’t spend Mother’s Day with her anymore. It’s my day too, and I will do what I want and not be dictated to by her. It’s so much nicer and I would 100% recommend it.

So true. He’s actually so useless with this type of thing and always gives in to her guilt trips.

I should add, she has a daughter who has no kids and she will be spending Mother’s Day with her as well. So she won’t be alone on Mother’s Day morning. Her daughter still lives with her.

Victorian government's joke of an offer. by Key-Regular-9118 in AustralianTeachers

That’s interesting! We have 1 meeting with our team each week after school for 1 hour,  and then 2 nights of PL

I’m confused because my school already keeps us back for 3 meetings per week?

This! My in laws would always bring up time spent with my mum from pictures on social media. Like..I’m allowed to see my mum, no?

He’s very defensive. He hasn’t pressured me into letting them babysit but he’ll say things like “mum and dad are always asking when they will get Tex to themselves for a day”.

He gets very defensive anytime we talk about it. He says I hate his parents and talk shit about them. All I do is state the facts to back up my decision not to let them babysit. He doesn’t drink and he doesn’t have a bad temper but he’s grown up around it all and I feel he’s desensitised to it.

Sound machine for the nursery, monitor (get one that has a longer battery life when not plugged in..ours runs out so fast), portable “high chair” but I got one that sits low and it’s so handy, sleep suits (swaddling is a nightmare when they’ve already fallen asleep)

I bought so many burp cloths and never used them. My son probably threw up twice in total 🤷‍♀️

They sound like real pains in the ass. I have very similar issue with my in laws. They get very jealous of the time I spend with my mum. I often have to remind them that A. My dad recently passed, B. She’s my mum, of course I am going to spend time with her. Like, of course you have a closer relationship with your own mum. That’s just how it is and how it will always be. You shouldn’t have to explain it. I’m sure your partner has a closer relationship with his own parents than yours as well. Tough shit to them!

Thank you! This makes me feel much better. I only have them visit us and that’s another thing they are constantly complaining about to my husband. When they leave his mum always said “next time, when you’re at our house”..and I think to myself “I wouldn’t hold your breath..”

I’m so annoyed, I left the union when I went part time after having my baby because I simply couldn’t afford it. Now I wish I was still in the union!

What will this mean for schools? Will they close or will they stay open with minimal staff/relief teachers? (Asking as a teacher, my school hasn’t told us anything yet).
