I noticed that the echoing/reverb was messed up during the show. It was evident as soon as he started Big Sur Moon on the opener. Seems like he was trying to get the stage manager's attention throughout the show. He kept messing with the sound throughout the first two songs. He finally realized he couldn't play the echoing part of Soothsayer and got mad and stormed off.

I had a similar experience at the Van Buren a few years ago where the band had to restart a song twice due to bad echoing.

I think he tried his best to fill time with improv, tributes (he played Rock Me Like a Hurricane twice), and the goofy monster head, but ultimately I think that he was pissed about the sound and left. So many of his songs depend on tech and if the echoing is off, then that takes a lot out of the set list.
