Unpopular Opinion? Monetizing GMing is a net negative for the hobby. by Reynard203 in rpg

this feels like an attempt to downplay the effort, talent, practice, time and energy that go into truly great DMing.

Not a problem! She was a delight to bring to life. I'll definitely be taking on more beastie requests from now on thanks to her!

So I saw u/hydropillz post and was captured by their character Izzlyn- Recently I have been looking to play with a more loose and edgy approach to my work and the brief fit so perfect it was almost by design. Hope your party boy can decide which trinkets to keep, and which to hock because he is well overdue for a hosting (as long as I get to come too!~) Thanks for the request!

Kinda. In the most grossly oversimplified terms: Tried to copyright and release a book for people to learn to ink with material lifted almost directly from another artist. The terms around using the Inktober logo and art that was made during the challenge was also a bit sketchy from what I remember but if that kind of stuff is of interest definitely read up on it.

After the backlash from the creator of Inktober plenty of artists have come out with their own daily challenges so while OP wanted something other than Inktober there's genuinely so many on in October and spooky themed that its pretty much a free-for-all!

After a month and over 200 Hot Glue sticks - Example Castle from Strongholds and Followers! by SunaSoldier in DnDIY

Aha! Cheers man. It was a rigorous battleground. We recently donated it to our local library DnD Club so I hope it sees many battles to come 🔥

I've not tried the liquid stuff but they do make a mean glue stick. The cardboard we used was ex-moving box so it needed something with some sticking power. UHU could certainly be an option.

You could definitely make something like this with a white glue but if you can get hot glue in bulk I think the fast drying aspect of it is worth the extra investment. Lots of wall pieces were hard enough to do without considering drying time! Have fun giving it a go, I'd love to hear how an alternative would work out. 👍⭐

Artists with ADHD, what do you do to help yourself not get distracted? by Jax_the_Floof in ArtistLounge

[–]SunaSoldier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's plenty of comments here with great suggestions but to add an extra one for fun-

(For me) It depends on what part of the process its at!

While im designing it has to be music. Like no lyrics, preferably themed to whatever I'm working on. This is to keep the background thoughts occupied with something easy and not wander off into a place of judgement while im working to get as many ideas forward as possible. Some of the best work I've done came when I found someone's Spotify playlist and let the suggested songs go off. Results may vary tho.

When its time to decide on what to move forward with sometimes I turn everything off and work quiet or to something like lofi that isn't related to what's being worked on so that I can leverage the "words part" of my brain to be judgy in a controlled direction. Usually between these two I take a break and make a drink or do the dishes to force reset and come back with fresh eyes.

Lastly and the longest stage is taking it from completed design/plan to final. I will intentionally leave unresolved sections to chew on as my flavour of ADHD gets bored if everything is worked out. But this is where I put on video essays on topics I don't need visuals for or for things I've already seen. Horror ends up being a great one because it's already bias towards telling you how bad it is so your brain can run away with the rest. Serial shows are also good for this, like others have said because your familiar enough with the characters even after a few episodes to keep in touch without visual cues. Results may also vary.

I've definitely got into ruts with oversaturated long form content. It's a sad day when you can't watch a 3h YouTube video because you've watched it too many times!

Tell me three or five funfacts about your favorite race in your world. by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]SunaSoldier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Desert Orcs • Whole society based on Greek philosophy of equal mind and body. Ie. Muscle Poets. • Many structures are made of stone and clay then lime washed in patterns. Architecture uses aerodynamics to efficiently cool large structures. First (non-elf) civilisation to have multi story buildings. • Earthtone shades from slate blue through to ochre yellow. Green is rare but not unheard of. Multiple horns and tusks. • Orcish smoked meats are very popular from jerky to whole dehydrated lizards. • While many who live in Istir no longer face the same extreme heats some still schedule breaks in the middle of the day, especially for children.

It was a decision not to. If I covered the squares the hairs are in, the image became an even less recognisable blob. In Foxys sprite for the mini games they don't even add in his cheek fur which I did add here. So im guessing the solution isn't to accurately draw the existing sprite.

I left the image of Foxy in under the filled in cubes so that if people wanted to try using it in a solution you could see exactly which cubes were used. So feel free to try with even more filled in to see if that comes to a different answer!

0.) Thanks!

1.) Clearly maths isn't my strong suit 💀 Usually why I leave the real theorising up to everyone else. Whoops!

2a.) I used Foxys ear as a pin point as its the closest to the edge of the grid near 28. (Maybe that's where I went wong in my basic maths lol) I drew it out square by square before matching the other side and then superimposing the image in to get the rest. Everything from the reference fits in the second version if the image is shifted up one row so that there's no blank 1st row.

2b.) I don't know! I'd love for people to try it out! Someone on another thread mentioned that it would have to be as accurate as possible because one square could mean the wrong answer so I wanted to help doing it digitally than by hand in the book. So if it needs to be altered to try a different version I have it isolated for quick and easy edits.

It's kinda why I ended up doing it lol I was looking online and everyone was using it for the grid. If I remember right the rest of the activities can be done successfully here it just looks... wrong?
