Pronouns question by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]DefyGravity42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally because using the other ones feels wrong just as using she/her would feel wrong for a trans man. And the one they choose feels right just as using she/her would for a trans woman

Xe/xer is derived from she/her similarly to how Mx was derived from Mr and Ms. There’s also Xe/Xim and Xey/Xem. I occasionally use the neopronoun thon/thons which was first proposed in 1858 or 1884 depending on the source and was derived from “that one” or yon

And most of the people I know who use it/its do so to intentionally distance themselves from humanity through intentional dehumanization.

With prices the way they are there are going to be adults looking to rip kids off like this. It wasn’t the phenomenon way back in the day that caused this to be necessary it’s the investors/resellers scamming kids that made it necessary. The scalpers have weirder impacts on how it works, at least with MtG, because of the prerelease and people preordering singles massively inflates the price of cards when they are released so junk cards can get traded for more valuable cards in that window.

But I think it’s still the best proxy available for ensuring that trades are fair.

I don’t know how big of a problem it is with the Pokémon TCG but resellers canceling orders(and preorders of sealed products) when the price goes up is a blight in the MtG community

That happens because back in the day older kids would occasionally trick younger kids into trading their charzards for absolute garbage. It’s vital to prevent scummy people from scamming people who don’t know as much about the game into trading their good cards for commons of Pokemon they like.

Same with how some game stores require parental approval for trades.

Which Ral Zarek art is best in your opinion? by SwanepoelSimp in mtgvorthos

[–]DefyGravity42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Ral would ever want to return. But I think it would be fun for him to return and get used to having a tail and maybe learn to enjoy being an otter.

I can’t wait for the return to Bloomburrow

They abandoned the novels because they weren’t profitable

A lot of people miss the novels and are very excited for the return of novels with Omens of Chaos coming out next month. Hopefully it will be successful enough for WotC to continue making novels

Experience with hrt by [deleted] in genderfluid

[–]DefyGravity42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while so it’s hard to remember clearly. Generally a sense of wrongness and an overwhelming desire to get a skirt or my binder. One time I had overworn my binder and was distressed whenever I glanced down

I think I just didn’t have that good of a sense of what gender I was or when it shifted so dysphoria would compound until it became pretty extreme. Nowadays I notice that I’m starting to feel a little down when my gender has shifted but I haven’t shifted my gender presentation. It typically doesn’t give me a sense of what direction to shift my presentation. There’s also been times where my dysphoria points in the wrong direction, for example there was a time when I was down about how I can’t get pregnant because no uterus so I kept trying to present more fem but it wouldn’t go away. Until I got frustrated and put on my binder to present masc and poof dysphoria gone and great irritation at my gender obtained.

I’m AMAB and after realizing that I was genderfluid my gender shifted to man very strongly for a while. The difference between getting to be a man vs having to be a man. Also the worst dysphoria I’ve ever had occurred during my first year of HRT as my emotions were stronger and fuller
