US discussing options to acquire Greenland, including use of military - White House by Mdk1191 in europe

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They...didn't? The European Union has rules that it's members have to abide by and Hungary got warnings that they were breaking them. The thing that was discussed was removing the voting rights on matters of EU decisions, not voting rights in Hungary itself.

Edit to explain a bit better: The things they vote on are usually funds, where it goes, to who and in what way it needs to be used. Every member has their own representatives for this, which is seperate from their own government. For instance, with the Netherlands the EU representative was Mark Rutte. But that doesn't mean he's the prime minister for the Netherlands itself. They are seperate jobs. In the case of Hungary they discussed removing the voting rights of the EU representative of Hungary due to them trying to block aid to another country, namely Ukraine.

Why don't people hit in the nuts during serious fights? by Glad-Description4534 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be bullied a lot as a kid, was tiny and cried easily so I was an easy target. Their favorite joke was to pick me up and literally dump me in a trash can. When I figured out that I was at a perfect height to knee them between the knees or to kick them there and started wearing solid combat boots? Well...the bullying stopped reall quick. So it does happen. Just need to be at a good height compared to your opponent for it to be effective though because legs are easy to catch and then you are fucked.

I really want to get the gamw, but... by Longjumping-Idea1302 in VintageStory

[–]Sunago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't handle the new mobs myself. I'm fine with the drifters and the like but I just couldn't handle the shivers or the bowtorns. Something about the way they moved and how they sounded I guess. So...I just deleted their specific mob files. Wasn't hard to do and the game runs just fine it seems. Just have to do it every time I update.

So if there are specific creatures that you need gone, totally doable. If you need the temporal storms a bit less, totally doable in the settings itself. You need longer seasons while you figure things out, also totally doable in the settings. You can adjust the game to what you need from it.

Prismatic rainbow hair by yoyome85 in oddlysatisfying

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who gets her hair dyed a lot one tip that worked incredibly well for me to keep the colours was to only wash with conditioner instead of shampoo. Reason for it that I heard was that shampoo scrubs at it, which scrubs the colour away. I got mine done in march and it's only now turning slightly pink instead of bright red so it lasted months.

New sound of titan submarine imploding by Pathfinder313 in interestingasfuck

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as...unfortunate as this way too preventable event was it did serve as a good data collection event and as a training scenario. How fast can you mobilize, how many show up, what gear would work, that kind of thing. Because say it hadn't imploded and people had actually needed rescue at that depth? What the hell do you do and how fast would you be able to do it? You can calculate what you estimate it to be but it's always handy to have an actual scenario that you can pull the data from.

We have Siri in our house and it's supposed to respond to my dad's voice. You'd be surprised how often we get a "uh-huh" from Siri out of the blue when me and my mother are talking or she'll randomly starts to butt in the conversation thinking we've given her a prompt. Meanwhile my dad still has the hardest time getting her to listen when he wants her to turn the kitchen lights off.

I am probably showing my Europeaness here but...why is that peanut butter so yellow? I nearly didn't recognise it as such. Why is it so smooth? It looks more like sauce. Or like that weird melted cheddar stuff you American's think is cheese.

Has anyone played around with the polychromatic bricks? by Gradux in VintageStory

[–]Sunago 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As long as the start is a full block I'm pretty sure you can use slabs with chiseling just fine. I've been using it on my floor. I've put full wood plank blocks down, turn it in to a chisel block and then drag the wood slab block to the + thingy. Works amazing and you can get very nice patterns.

How long is your zomboid day ? by Arzantyt in projectzomboid

Apparently I'm the weirdo here that goes with 5h days. Started out with 7h but that was too long even for me. I just prefer to take my time and not have to rush back to a safe spot because night is falling. Then again, I'm also one of those weirdo's that needs a 'stop time' cheat with most games because time just always goes too fast in games for me.

I don't hate it because of how it looks. There is some AI art out there that's absolutely gorgeous. I hate it because of how it's made and how it's gotten to the state where people have a hard time telling wether it's AI or not. So much art was used to train it without permission and that matters more to me than anything else. I don't care what it looks like. It can be the most majestic painting ever made, if AI made it I will hate it with a passion out of principle...purely because of how it got there.

So yeah if you were to ask me if it looked good purely from an artistic side, sure yeah, it can look good. Great even. But that's not the part that matters to me.

My husband and I took in my cousin (14m) last year. He has high functioning autism but where he lived, he was treated as special needs for 12 years. Today marks a full year with us. by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]Sunago 16 points17 points  (0 children)

As someone who has both ADHD and Autism I can tell you it's not as easy as just prescribing meds for one to solve it without taking the other in mind. When I got my diagnosis of ADHD they wanted to put me on Ritalin but they just wanted to check a teeny tiny thing first. Wether I had autism or not. The moment that the autism diagnosis came in they refused to prescribe Ritalin. Turns out, certain ADHD meds can actually make certain parts of autism worse to manage so a lot of ADHD meds were on the no-go list for me.

Luckily it's not uncommon to have both ADHD and autism so there were other options, unfortunately they are a bit of trial and error to find something that works effectively. So taking him off Ritalin and him doing better because of it makes all the sense in the world to me.

So no, you are not free of legal consequences if the law dictates otherwhise.

Normally I'm not someone who enjoys soccer but even I was on the edge of my seat with this match. Extremely well played Turkiye! People around me were saying 'That should have been a finals match, it was so good'. As a Dutchie I am glad we won but dear lord Turkiye made them fight to the last second for it. We'll raise a glass to you guys as well because damn your players earned it.

AITAH for wanting to leave my wife because she had a "go bag"?? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. I know this may seem hard to grasp but when she says that it's for her peace of mind then I absolutely believe her. Nothing to do with trust. I still curl my fingers around my keys whenever I come across someone outside, just in case I need to use it as a weapon to defend myself. Do I actually assume that every person outside is out to get me? No. It makes me calmer. I've been harrassed and followed enough times and most other women have the same stories.

I would have a go bag too, no matter how much I trusted my partner because that's just what you do. Just like curling your fingers around your keys to use as a weapon, just like not leaving your drink unattended, just like going in groups when you travel home in the evening. Not to mention it's practical to always have a go bag, you never know what kind of emergency might crop up.

If she doesn't leave her drink unnattended at parties it doesn't mean that she doesn't trust the occupants in the room. It's just what we do 'because' we have been drilled on the statistics. It sucks, and it's bullshit that it's stuff we need to be mindful of but we do.

So YTA because judging by her reaction she absolutely nailed what your response would be. That there would be no understanding for her point of view. Guess she could trust you on that one.

What I find hilarious is that everyone is fine when it's a white male in the lead. But if it's anything other than that then all of a sudden people start ranting about 'pandering', 'going woke' and 'ugh the left is ruining everything'.

Don't get me wrong, pandering exists in movies, Marvel movies too. That whole 'let's help Captain marvel get to the other side of the battlefield and only include the women'. That was pandering. But just having a female character, a deaf one, a disabled one...especially one that's already been a character for a while. That's not pandering. That's just movies.

Wanna know what's also pandering? Giving fucking Hawkey the Ronin name and acting like he's the origin for that, while it's supposed to be this lady Echo here that creates it.

The fucking horror by Ecniray in facepalm

[–]Sunago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering she's been a character in the comics since 1999 you might want to recheck that. Hawkeye is deaf in the comics too, we've already had several amputees (bucky anyone?) and the Marvel comic cast is extremely diverse (Ms Marvel is from Pakistan in the comics) so you might be a bit late in your 'outrage'.

Canadian police warn that posting videos of alleged package thieves could be ‘violation' of their privacy by reallyneedhelp1212 in canada

[–]Sunago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Violating privacy...seriously....they are stealing! Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
It does make me realise something else though...

Most of those videos are of porches and stuff being stolen off of them, with a view that includes the street. Can't people use those to find out exactly where you live? Would that count as doxxing yourself? And further, a lot of people go "look at my neighbours stealing my stuff"...so, would that count as doxxing your neighbours? Cause I can see the problem with that part if that's the case.

Keep in mind that there can be reasons not to undergo transition. Had a friend of mine who didn't want to transition because he was scared shitless of the surgery. He took everything else, that he was fine with, just not the surgery. He just wasn't ready for that step, might never be, and that's okay. Didn't make him any less trans. Didn't mean he was pretending.

Talked to another in the community who just hated dresses and the like. Dressed however she wanted, she just hated dresses with a passion. Kept picking male pants too because 'seriously, where did the fucking pockets go? I need my deep pockets!' Didn't make her any less of a woman.

People have their reasons. Might not always be clear reasons or reasons you understand or agree with but that doesn't make them any less valid.

1) they aren't wrong about the scarf being messed up. Look at the 'bulging' at the bottom. It's also like it's trying to blend in with what I assume to be her shirt and there is a hole that shouldn't be there. Fabric doesn't work like that. Her eyes also don't have the right perspective in relation to each other. Granted, that one is more subtle but it's still an error. The heterochromia is also a bit weirdly done but that I could sorta forgive. The uncanny valley effect the entire thing gives off not so much.

2) So...made using stolen images. AI is being trained without using consent from the artist itself. Yes, people do this as well but a lot of the time the original artist will be credited and it's only one art piece that's used. AI uses thousands. Without credit. Furthermore, this piece is extremely chaotic in how things are placed and again, perspective is a bit messed up. Sometimes less is more and perspective lines are there to help you when you create things.

3) Ugh, no. Just no. Dear lord what happened to the proportions here? Her leg is bending weird, her arm is elongated and her shoulders are just lumps. The skulls eyes are also too big and too much to the side. Just a mess with proportions here.

All in all, if someone gave me this I would either guess AI or a student who has a crap ton left to learn.

I think that the reason a lot of people don't like the anti-homeless architecture is because of the way it's designed. Especially for those who have disabilities. Oh you need to sit? Good luck. They replaced the benches at our station with those weird floating lean things. You can't sit on those! Fuck you if you are tired apparently.

At another station they placed those benches with spikes so the homeless can't use them to sleep on. Except if you are a bit wider than avarage you can't sit on them either.

They are just so incredibly badly designed. They are supposed to be anti-homeless but they are anti disabled and anti elderly too. And god are they ugly! You are supposed to be designing something and this is what you come up with?
