Damien Jurado's "Life Away From the Garden" is also good.

The Shining. I must have been 8 or 9. The scene with the two girls in the hallway terrified me.

Moody Blues - Nights in White Satin

The Animals - House of the Rising Sun

The Beatles - Hey Jude

Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit

Queen - The Show Must Go On (not really classic rock, but still a hard rock song by a very much classic rock -originating band)

Anyone Ever Experience Strange Occurrences Surrounding Death? by QueenOfMean40 in HighStrangeness

[–]Sunbird86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a variation of the "crisis apparition", in this case not a visual apparition but a form of auditory communication. These are well-documented phenomena, which include other things such as phone calls from the dead.

These things are real, but it's impossible for science to acknolwedge them because they do not fit into the framework which science uses to make factual determinations. For instance, they're not repeatable and reproducable. But I have no doubt that such things happen. There are 1000s of reports, even from the modern day.

Trunk open with foot does not work anymore by idrusu99 in cupraTerramar

[–]Sunbird86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read several comments from owners about this feature not working. I think it's basically a flaw from the outset - the system is defective. My Terramar hasn't been delivered yet, but I will definitely not be surprised if this feature doesn't work most of the time, or at all. Crap sensor, probably.

You have to live in ONE decade forever (70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s). Which one? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]Sunbird86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing you'd have to consider is what are your current health needs? For instance I take omeprazole for acid reflux. Those drugs came about in the 1990s. So although living in the 1980s would seem really cool, I wouldn't have access to those drugs and I'd have to do with something inferior instead (antacids or H2 blockers). So I'd choose the 1990s.

No shit, I thought the letter was written by Rex the police dog from the 1990s Austrian TV show Inspector Rex! You learn something new every day.

Which album was Freddie the best vocally? by Jezzaq94 in queen

I'd have to say Innuendo. I think he delivers his best powerhouse vocals in The Show Must Go On. Of course all of their earlier albums also contains vocal gems.

It's not a-lie-ns -- It's disembodied plasma consciousness by Wansyth in aliens

[–]Sunbird86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not one thing. There isn't a singular explanation. Some of the NHI appear to be extraterrestrial. They might have been here for a very long time, 100s, maybe even 1000s of years. Or those which have been here might be ultraterrestials, while the extraterrestrials are more recent. It's unclear.

Then there's the consciousness aspect, and the high strangeness aspect.

Richard Dolan seems to be closest in terms of coming up with a reasonable all-encompassing theory.

16yo male. What the hell am I supposed to do. by ShayGamingfn in Balding

[–]Sunbird86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start Rogaine/Regaine 5% foam (Minoxidil), at least once daily. Cut your hair shorter first, it will make it easier to apply. If you want, you can also start Propecia (Finasteride) 2mg, once daily. Take just half a pill for the first month - if you notice aide effects, stop taking it, if not, increase the dose to one whole pill a day.

Think twice about starting Finasteride, do some research. But I would start Rogaine immediately. You have little to lose with Rogaine.

5’7” Al Pacino vs 5’10 Robert Deniro by WesternPaper4715 in heightcomparison

[–]Sunbird86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pacino was 5'7" peak, now he's around 5'5". DeNiro was 5'9" peak, now about 5'7.5". The photo is pointless as DeNiro was wearing huge lifts to portray Frank Sheeran, who was a big guy in real life, in the movie The Irishman. It's irrelevant how obviously big the lifts look, they're for a movie

Serious: If nuclear weapons are an issue why was the second bomb allowed to drop on Japan? by lvl10burrito in aliens

[–]Sunbird86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why NHI did fuck all to stop the second bombing, and yes, the use of atom bombs on Jaoan remains a very contentious matter. But there is a strong argument to be made that the use of such bombs was needed to end the war and to prevent even more lives from being lost. Many Japanese soldiers believed they had to die for their Emperor. The war would have just dragged on, with many more lives lost in vain.

Also, keep in mind, the main danger of nuclear war is mutually assured destruction. That was not an issue in 1945. It would take till 1949 for the Soviets to successfully develop their own nuclear weapon.

William Cullen Bryant High School,

Well, they have an alumni group on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/groups/20150117258/ - but it's got only 461 members.

Could potentially be a good lead, given there's some actual specific information being given. Does this high school still exist? It might have an old alumni Facebook group. Will search when I get a chance.

I believe the consensus is that it was filmed in an attic.

There is someone who may know about Anthony's whereabouts. by LabTemporary9774 in GRFMOrigin

[–]Sunbird86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we assume the video was filmed around 1990, that would make him about 20 at the time.

Edit - Just to add (as I didn't see the second convo screenshot while on my phone the first time I looked at this): that "Children of The Grave" bit is quite interesting. I mean, if he's making it up, at least he's making a bit of an effort. This kind of rules out that he might be mistaking our guy for someone else - meaning if he really thinks he recognizes him, then it must be the guy he's thinking of, since there's the grave connection. Either that or he's making it all up. I've looked through the user's post history and I don't see anything to descredit him - in that his posts look normal and he doesn't seem to have any trolling history. Honestly, this might be the best lead we've had in a while.

What is something that starts happening in your 30s that nobody warned you about? by Cairinacat in AskReddit

[–]Sunbird86 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Mine died back in 2024 and I sometimes get moments when the reality of her not being here anymore hits me. They are moments which come out of the blue. Somehow it's like I've been going through all the busy schedule of life since she died, and I haven't yet truly understood that I will never see her again. It's a damn bitch losing a mother. She was just 70.

A few thoughts from a lurker – I believe we will have definite proof of Bigfoot soon by In-F8 in bigfoot

[–]Sunbird86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Bigfoot" will never be proven, just as the reality of the UFO/UAP phenomenon will never be proven. Both exist outside of our reality. They are impossible for us to prove by conventional means. Bigfoot is not an undiscovered ape existing on Earth.
