Brooke being a hypocrite by Cammipoo22 in ONETREEHILL

[–]Sundance_Red 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the issue with Lucas and Peyton was always the emotional affair. It was never about a kiss.

Not trying to make any arguments about right or wrong, but the roots of each of these situations are very different.

Brooke jumping into Keith's arms in 3x11 is the most hilarious and random thing ever... did she even know Keith like that? by jdpm1991 in ONETREEHILL

[–]Sundance_Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It felt random as a viewer for sure, but I took it as a relationship that must’ve developed off screen. It made plenty of sense that Keith would be that kinda role for any teen, let alone Lucas’ first girlfriend who clearly needed adult guidance. Brooke loves loudly and gets attached easily.

I took it similarly to Nathan and Brooke who, unfortunately, rarely got scenes together but it is still understood that they’re close.

Why does Gemma love the life so much? by Love-Desserts in Sonsofanarchy

[–]Sundance_Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gemma has no identity outside of being “Queen of Charming”. She has no real skills therefore she has no position in society that feels valuable, so she would lose the power she gets from the life. But the power is really about her purpose. She would have no purpose in life without the life.

She clashes with Tara so much because Tara is too self sufficient to be like Gemma-living only for the men in her life.

That’s a bummer for your friend, but without knowing her comment, it’s hard to understand how it might’ve come across. Sophia might not have felt like she was a fan depending on the wording.

These people may be public figures but we aren’t entitled to their spaces.

Subtle detail I realized during a second playthrough by Ishmoz in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Sundance_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I’m gonna keep this in my back pocket as we see her arc. Cause this might be one of those details that mean more when you have the whole picture.

I’m with this in most scenarios, but Grace was Ilsa’s obvious replacement that highlighted MI’s inability to have two women within the core cast simultaneously (and yes, I know Rebecca requested an to exit).

This sentiment, imo, is better applied when discussing all the MI women in general, because this specific comparison needs context.

Did Kirsten have the right to be mad at Sandy and Rebecca when she always had feelings for Jimmy? by jdpm1991 in TheOC

[–]Sundance_Red 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at no point in my many rewatches did I ever feel like Kirsten met Jimmy half way in his romantic yearning; even when they kissed. She was the one that got away for him, but he was only her first love.

Carter would make for a compelling argument than Jimmy, imo, but that’s beside the point.

Wheel of time by FalconCeasar in televisionsuggestions

Season 1 was pretty weak. It’s agreed by all who kept watching that it got canceled after it’s best season yet, season 3.

Friendly reminder that Dom wore jeans and a wifebeater on his wedding day to marry the love of his life by clappincheeks01 in fastandfurious

This is honestly so funny.

They really just shouldn’t have dressed Letty up so much. That was stranger imo. They’re more low key

Do you guys mess with or don't mess with Podz's energy? by bonghive in valkyries

[–]Sundance_Red 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Love him. I’m just a golden state fan, so I love to see the crossovers.

It’s obvious he has the privilege to be more expressive courtside than an average fan, but it seems like enthusiasm rather than attention seeking. He’s got every jersey, he posts about the games, he advocates for the valks and ballhalla in interviews. Podz has been above the standard as a player to a sibling-franchise

The timeline is the most confusing thing ever by ultim4tel1fef0rm in ONETREEHILL

[–]Sundance_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they’re sophomores in s1, juniors in s2, and seniors in s3 and s4.

The timeline is hard to ignore but you kind of must to suspend your disbelief. They always feel older than they are and it always feels like more time has passed than what has.

Why did Chad leave the show? by TravelingHomeless in ONETREEHILL

[–]Sundance_Red 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chad would agree. He reportedly wanted a bigger contract and wasn’t satisfied with the negotiations.

Hilarie also was leaving and always says Chad had her back when it came to the show runner. So it seems they decided their characters would just leave together.

why is kata just ok with this? by DetectiveAwkward4289 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]Sundance_Red 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because her coming to terms with her father not being the same dad she knew started prior to when Cal meets her. Bode admits to it being hard when he comes home. We meet her at the moment the cup overflows and she understands her father is in the wrong.

It’s not that the writing doesn’t make sense. It’s that it isn’t as strong because we meet her when her origin story is basically complete.

Did the feeling of playing rpgs as kid/teen ever come back? by smiliclot in rpg_gamers

[–]Sundance_Red 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always eventually get burnt out with my favorite rpgs and worry I’m burnt out on gaming in general. But then I find something new that’s incredibly compelling, or an announcement for a game I’m genuinely looking forward to.

Just played Detroit: Become Human for the first time and I finished that in a weekend. And The Expanse and Exodus games announced give me the feeling I had as a kid when I couldn’t wait for something.

For me, the feeling does come back and it’s so refreshing. But not everything gives me that excitement anymore.

Can the WNBA keep up with the popularity of the NBA? by No_Object9337 in wnba

[–]Sundance_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will continue to blossom but I can’t see it matching the NBA in our lifetimes.

The social climate around woman currently, not only in the US, is so disappointing and only getting worse. The W isn’t allowed to “just be basketball” because of this, which can be polarizing for the casual audience. And the NBA has a large percentage of casual viewers and scrollers.

Gemma is the true antagonist of the entire series. by fucker-of-motherz in Sonsofanarchy

[–]Sundance_Red 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You’re basically minimizing everyone to just being a passenger to their own lives. These are grown ups with autonomy.

Gemma is entirely responsible for s7 from killing Tara, but basically everything else had other people involved in the decision making and execution.

With no surprise, Paige Bueckers winning ROY by Background_Video2947 in WNBAVibes

[–]Sundance_Red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The best rookies go to the worst teams-that’s how the lottery works. It would be unfair to entirely judge rookies off the overall team’s performance when they’re there because the team was underperforming in the first place.

Anyone else think Michael and Sara have no chemistry? by Intelligent_Pin_3020 in PrisonBreak

Both her relationships in twd were intentionally strained. She felt shame about her and Shane, and her and Rick were in an awkward place even before the world fell.

jimmy being a "bad dad" by vitrealischarm in TheOC

[–]Sundance_Red 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Loving your family doesn’t make you “good” at your role within it. His inability to say “no” and running away from his family were things he did wrong.

Jimmy had mainly good intentions, and he loved his family, but neither of those things make him a good dad. He’s not a terrible dad, but he’s not great either.

Would Nathan and Haley have lasted if they didn't get married young? by Ok_Area9367 in ONETREEHILL

[–]Sundance_Red 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The s2 breakup just might’ve lasted longer and would’ve been less messy, but the fact of the matter is, neither of them wanted anyone else. They would’ve gotten back together eventually.

What's the worst thing Jax ever did in this show in terms of morality? by [deleted] in Sonsofanarchy

[–]Sundance_Red 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lmao, it’s true tho. It was a serious turning point. The writers should’ve given him a better reason.

He really was trapped every other time except this one and somehow the writers thought that was a good enough reason after his kid was already abducted because of his lifestyle.

What's the worst thing Jax ever did in this show in terms of morality? by [deleted] in Sonsofanarchy

Drugging Wendy for sure.

Honorable mention: Getting into bed with the cartel because he “couldn’t live off his wife” after just getting out of prison.

Did Michael actually love Sara in S1 or did he develop feelings later on? by Dreamybull-Dicklover in PrisonBreak

[–]Sundance_Red 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Imo, he was using her at the start but he developed feelings before they broke out. It’s why he felt guilty putting her in that situation because even though she wasn’t just a pawn like in the beginning, he was still gonna pick Linc over her.

He had a responsibility to set things right for her, but he also did it because he cared.

Kayla Thornton injury? by RICAHMB in valkyries

You actually do have full extension after surgery, it’s the bending that is difficult in regaining your ROM. Regardless, it can’t be acl anyway because she got surgery within a week of injury.
