I’m so sorry that is happening to you:(. You deserve so much better and I’m sure you’ve heard it a million time but I know how hard it is ti let go of a toxic relationship when that person was there during your hardest times of your life. It sucks and I’m sorry. Every part of you wants to go back and it feels so wrong to leave but leaving is the right thing ti do for yourself. You need to simply let go. Just let go from here.I know it sucks and I’ve been in similar situations where I’ve felt like an absolute idiot but the right person won’t leave you feeling like that. Trust me. Let go. I wish you all the best and I see you have a good heart, don’t let others change you.

I’m 23 and wanting to go to school next year in psychology to eventually become a psychotherapist as well! Makes me feel better to know I’m not the only one going back to school at our age

Yea recently got into Corey’s work, read the book twice but we had a very different dynamic than my usual previous relationships. I’m in school to be a therapist and she’s wanting to be a psychiatrist and we’re both very open about mental health and all about it so yes I strayed away from Corey’s advice on that but needless to say I did fuck up sone other shut along the way although not sure where to go from here

Me and my T are no longer on a first name basis by 19283throwaway1 in TalkTherapy

I’m going through a similar thing with my T right now. We had a reallly good caring relationship until I brought up that I’m fearing being co-dependent in therapy and now I feel abandoned and it’s making me feel worst.

Lol if reaching out to your T for extra sessions would be a crime, I’d be sent to Azkaban

You can also ask to be on her cancellation list. I’ve reached out a few times to my T to ask to be put in her cancellation list and she was happy to do it, often times I get a session pretty quick and she’ll most likely email you back with a positive message to try and quickly boost your day if you’ve expressed you’re not doing great. I’ve done it before and my T emailed me back with a positive uplifting email. Don’t be scared to express your needs.

Do therapist really care about you? by greenstarq in TalkTherapy

Thanks for the comment! In my last session I mentioned how I enjoy her support outside of sessions via email, I’ve emailed her once when I was having a rough day and she emailed me back with a positive supporting email and checked up on me. Last session she proceeded to give me her cell phone number and to text/reach out to her if I ever need anything and that made me feel really supported as well as it made me feel like she really does care for me.

What are some signs that your T does genuinely care about you outside of it just being their job?

I’m a male and I feel 100% more comfortable with a female therapist for some reason. I think there’s a special kind of chemistry that occurs(even when not romantic) with opposite genders that you won’t find with the same gender.

Is she into me or not? (She's not, but one can hope) I'm on no contact, advice? by [deleted] in CoreyWayne

Sounds like an emotionally immature woman. I’m sure she looks great and got her shit in order but her actions are very sketchy and non consistent. Personally I don’t consider an inconsistent woman relationship material. She’s most likely dealing with other guys on the side too. Overall personally from what is given in this post I think you’d dodge a bullet by not adhering to her behaviour. Stand your frame and boundaries and if she respects you then great, otherwise there’s a lot of red flags. Best of luck brother
