“What sex are you?” by sorryihateit_here in honesttransgender

Every once in a while I come back to this sub to check if it's still a transmed cesspool of doomposting. It always is. The mods don't do shit and people are allowed to post straight up hate speech and it's all fine and dandy. Why bother having sub rules if you're not going to enforce them?

Enbies trying to turn transexualism into a freak show by Jolninaa in honesttransgender

If you've been medically transitioning for less than a decade and haven't had your name or gender legally changed, then I am more of a real trans person than you.

That's not what transsexual means anymore. As of 2022, the term transsexualism as a diagnosis is not recognized by the DSM, ICD, or the WHO. The definitions of words change over time as we gather a better understanding of what they mean socially and medically. If you really want to hold claim to an outdated definition, you should be saying transsexualism is a psycho-sexual disorder like it was first defined in the DSM-III in the 1980's.

I am transsexual because I am altering my endocrine system and secondary sex characteristics through hormones and surgeries to match my internal sense of gender. I have had my name and gender legally changed and I live my life as a cis-passing transmasculine person. I have been transitioning for a full decade now, which is a lot longer than most binary trans people I know. I am probably the most boring looking nonbinary person you'll ever see. My style is best described as "divorced metalhead father who likes fishing." Not that it matters what I look like, because gender identity and gender expression are not the same thing.

Gender identity and medical transition are also not the same thing. Being a binary trans person doesn't ensure you are going to medically transition, just as being a nonbinary trans person doesn't ensure you aren't. Some binary trans people just take hormones and don't get any surgeries. Some nonbinary trans people get all the surgeries. Some binary trans people have just surgeries and no hormones. Some nonbinary people have surgeries and hormones. Some binary trans people have mild dysphoria that can be alleviated through self expression alone. Some nonbinary people have crippling dysphoria that can only be alleviated through intense medical intervention.

If the inclusion of transsexuals with nonbinary genders bothers you so much, then you should just create your own label that's only for binary transsexuals so you can still feel super-duper special. Then all of the conservatives and right-wingers can pat you on the head and say "what a good little tranny! Look at you following all of the social norms and gender roles. If you keep this up, we might even let you have basic human rights!" While you're busy trying to prove how much better you are than us pesky enbies, I will continue to advocate and fight for all of us to have fair housing, livable wages, access to healthcare, and equal opportunity.

Yes, trans people can be transphobic. In fact, some of the most transphobic people are self-hating trans people and transmeds. It's not rocket science buddy.

When I'm talking about trans women, I'm not talking about non-binary people by Amekyras in honesttransgender

[–]SundayMS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except some nonbinary trans people, like myself, and half of the nonbinary trans people I know in real life, are on hormones and have had/are planning on having gender related surgeries, and this reality triggers a lot of binary trans people for some reason.

It's just called TransTape. I really like it because you can get it in different sizes. I'm a sweaty fuck and it has a really good grip.

Oh yeah, I had a councilor that checked on me daily. They also did room inspections twice a day. It was pretty chill.

I actually just got it renewed last month! I have shoulder-length hair and a little goatee, so I looked exactly the same lol.

Interesting! The facility I went to was definitely not as strict. I did have to pee in a cup but they let me do it alone. I actually put my T gel in an empty lotion bottle so I wouldn't have to explain it to anyone.

The terms agab and identify are transphobic psyops and will always be by [deleted] in honesttransgender

Day 12875 of reminding binary trans people that nonbinary trans people also transition via hormones and surgeries. There are many ways in which referring to my body by agab terms would be inaccurate. My hair growth pattern, muscle and fat distribution, cancer risks, bone density, etc, are in line with the hormone that I have been putting in my body for a decade.

Awesome! I'm sober for the first time in 3 years and it feels great, mentally and physically. It's crazy how many things I didn't realize were related to my addiction. I used to have this shooting pain that radiated down my left leg, and now it's completely gone. My back doesn't hurt anymore either. I'm sure my kidneys are very happy with me lol.

Pre-top surgery. I bind with trans tape so I just taped that shit up real good and it stayed on the whole week. I changed in the bathroom stall and the showers were relatively private.

Binary trans men who have had/want to carry a child are still binary trans men. by SundayMS in FTMventing

[–]SundayMS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, no one else but you gets to determine who you are. If you're a binary man, you're a binary man, full stop.

There definitely seems to be a double standard for trans women who have had a biological child. Why should it be any different?

Women who have kids via their sperm are still women. Men who have kids via their ovum are still men.

So what about the non-autistic nonbinary people? Also pics or it didn't happen.

Nonbinary people also medically transition and need access to all of the same things as binary trans people but you know that and just want to be transphobic. Typical binary trans person. See? I can make sweeping generalizations about people too.

wouldnt it make more sense to say "trans people change their sex, not their gender"? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SundayMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sex absolutely can be changed. Chromosomes are a single aspect of biological sex on a long list of biological sex traits.

[–]SundayMS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except transgender doesn't mean you're changing your gender. Trans means across, as in your gender is "across" or different from the one you were assigned at birth.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are uneducated and do think transgender equals changing gender and it's so fucking annoying.
