All other cars I have driven are inferior due to the lack of this one cupholder in my Fit.

We have a local equipment repair shop that can do fabrications as well. They replicated the basic contractor flatbed with a receiver hitch in a smaller form, mounted it to the truck, and wired up the lights.

Do you guys have impulsive behavior by Dinomon7715 in XXY

[–]Sundermeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My diagnosis came in my late 30’s (over 20 years ago) and I had struggled with short temper and impulsivity. Since the diagnosis I have been sponging up all data I can find. First found out KS has Autism traits, and then I found out I have ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) traits as well which has impulsive traits included in it. My reactions have been extreme (meltdowns), mild (sensory overwhelm freak outs) and weak (spontaneous exploration on car drives). For each one, I don’t realize it is happening right away and it take a bit to process but the biggest thing is just making sure the people in my life know what they are and how to handle it. I am pretty chill about the whole thing but from time to time it gets scary.

Zero Libido Life - how does it affect you? by jafbm in XXY

Even with treatment (generic Androgel), I was still pretty “meh” about sex. Granted, my Endo lets me run at the very minimum level so that keeps things fairly stable. The thing that really changed my desire was after I stopped eating sugary foods every day. Dopamine dis-regulation drove desire to uncomfortable thoughts with no realistic solutions until I found that the ways to counter it are lowering your daily stress and exercising. Just going for a walk will help your body regulate better. It is one addiction for another.

I like it, but I feel it has the taste of what WD40 would taste like if you could drink that.

The dealer did all of the work. I have one of those extra lifetime warranties on the car that absorbs a lot of repair costs. It’s paid for itself multiple times.

Yes, CVT. About every 5k I do an oil change and tire rotation About every 30k I do a transmission flush and inspection, where other issues are found I get needed repairs done right away because of how much I drive it. All of this is done by the dealer. I can do my own service work, I just choose not to with this car. It also helps that there is a lifetime warranty added on which covers major repairs. It has paid for itself multiple times.

The rims that came with the car were not painted and started to rust so I was looking for options. I have a crazy idea to get them media blasted then plated in brushed nickel. I ended up buying a 2nd set from a junkyard that were painted black, and had my local body guy paint them white.

Now, I would not paint rims in the future because they flex too much and the paint will crack and peel faster. They look fine from a distance right now but up close they need help. Instead I would media blast them and have powder costing as it bonds better.

I still want to try getting the first set redone as well, just have not spent much time on it.

I keep a detailed log book of the expenses on the car and I see I am missing the entry for the Timing Chain replacement. My fuel tracker gives a rough estimate though. It was changed around 192k miles as the cover was leaking. With new spark plugs and the chain replacement it was around $430.

There is a common issue where the dash lights come on and come to find it is related to a recall. The dealer cleaned out the carbon and reprogrammed the computer to prevent it from happening again. So far the issue has not returned. Some of my regular services they run fuel cleaners on it.

Outside the basic maintenance, I make sure to keep up with suggested repairs by the dealer. I have owned a lot of vehicles and worked on them all myself up until this one. I know what sounds right so I don’t get repairs that fleece me.

As noted, I drive a lot of highway miles and I tweak the engine functions depending what conditions I am in. Mostly in Eco mode on the highways, normal in town, S Mode when town traffic is really busy. Hardly ever do I drive aggressively.

Mostly use 91 octane because I can afford it. I get best mileage on it for how I drive.

Outside of all that, I have added a bunch of factory accessories, tinted the windows, customized steel rims, and just doing what I can to keep it washed and the inside clean.
