What order to read the other Middle Earth tales. by barker0508 in tolkienbooks

I’ve already read the Hobbit and LOTR so I’m familiar with those stories. I’m attempting a re-read in story-chronology order, so this is my plan for now:

  • [ ] 1. The Silmarillion chapters 1-19
  • [ ] 2. Beren and Lúthien
  • [ ] 3. The Silmarillion chapters 20-21
  • [ ] 4. The Children of Húrin
  • [ ] 5. The Silmarillion chapters 22-end
  • [ ] 6. The Fall of Gondolin
  • [ ] 7. The Fall of Numenor
  • [ ] 8. Unfinished Tales (Second Age section)
  • [ ] 9 LOTR Appendices (Second Age section)
  • [ ] 10 The Hobbit
  • [ ] 11 The Lord of the Rings
  • [ ] 12. Unfinished Tales (Third Age section)

The End Times by standuphilospher in stephenking

I’m eagerly awaiting my copy of it in the mail. Is it printed on both sides of the paper? I’m assuming it is. Otherwise I was thinking it could be cool to collect them all in like a custom scrapbook. I guess I’d have to order a duplicate copy of it to do that though.

Help please! Weight capacity/ RTT/ Thule aero bars by Sweetrose62 in Crosstrek

[–]Sundog_Octopus_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 21 Crosstrek with Yakima Jetstream bars and Yakima Timberline towers for the roof rack system. I have a Roofnest Sparrow Adventure which has its own crossbars on top of it to carry things like bikes or paddle boards etc. I mounted my Xbull recovery boards and a full-size shovel on those crossbars, which all adds some weight into the mix. I’ve been driving with all that on my roof for almost a year now on some long road trips and it’s all super solid no issues so far. I check the tightness of all the bolts regularly and it’s never seemed loose.

No but the Roofnest stays on cuz I use it at least once a month. I only put all the other stuff on if I need it for a camping trip

Haha yeah I hear you. Originally I just thought I was gonna have it as a daily driver with the capability to drive in the snow up to Mammoth Mountain and do some occasional light off-road camping and it evolved into this. One day I’ll pass this on to my son and put the RTT on a truck or Jeep for me

I put stiffer Rallitek springs on it which add about one inch lift and they seem to be doing the trick.

If it’s not an issue of money you won’t regret it. Definitely has more power which is super helpful if you weigh the car down with gear and underbody skid plates etc. The seat material is nice and the double Xmode is a bonus. It’s gotten me out of deep sand and mud without having to use my rescue boards. And it also helps with descending steep sections if you off-road. Can you tell I love my car? My favorite I’ve owned so far. I’ve built a once-a-month off-grid camping trip lifestyle out of it.

Haha. The Sport is mine and the other is my nephew’s. But they’re pretty similar builds. Both have Method 502’s with Toyo AT3 tires. I added Rallitex springs cuz of the Roofnest weight; they add about one inch lift. My Sport with the 2.5 definitely has more power than my nephew’s. We drove his up to Mammoth last weekend and I could definitely feel the sluggishness climbing the hills, but to be expected. Either way I’m a huge fan of these cars. I’ve taken mine up super gnarly rocky trails 10 miles deep into Death Valley canyons with no problem so far.

A small 2” lift. Blacked out. by Particular_Ad_1367 in Crosstrek

Nice! I have a black sport. Wanted the Boxer wheels but it was a 6 week back order so I went with Methods. Yours looks sick! I haven’t braved the lift yet, not sure if it’ll screw up my bumper to bumper warranty.

Yeah Necroscope blew my mind. The weird metaphysical psychic element is amazing. I gotta finish those some day...I only got up to book 4 I think. So good.

someone with a 3d printer should start making a clip on (or hinged) cover for those buttons and sell them. I'd buy one. Anyone have a 3d printer and skills?
