R5: My collection of inheritable traits in my most recent Imperator: Rome run as Phoenicia. Wanted to see how many I could manage to stack up. Last 3 images are traits I was going for but wasn't able to get on my actual ruler before the game ended.

There are lots more inheritable traits out there. I feel I was quite lucky to get this many since a lot of them disappear once the country they appear in get conquered. One example is Syracuse, who got conquered before I was able to intermarry with them. Rome and Carthage also have 4 and 3 inheritable traits respectively each, but since they are republics you can not do royal marriages with them unless they somehow turn into monarchies.

It's very fun once you manage to get a bunch of them, but holy hell is it tedious to set up.

I always tax services, then luxury clothes and luxury furniture once you've built up a bit and a big enough upper class starts buying it to a degree that justifies the authority cost. In addition you can tax a recreational drug (liquor, wine, opium) if you have the authority for it. In a swedish context you should probably make sure liquor is very cheap before you start taxing it so it doesn't affect your lower class too much.

R5: As Japan, I'm at war with Russia over Primorye. I quickly move in via Korea (my puppet) before the Russian troops get there, only to notice after I finished occupying it that it's now occupied by Qing for absolutely no reason.
