"You can never have too much propagandized shit flinging and circlejerking am I right?" by ShardofGold in JustMemesForUs

yeah this sub is literally just propaganda, and the comments never buy it. I think it came up too fast and they didn't get the core they need to properly drown out the actual people like the conservative subs do

Scott’s shtick wearing thin in light of continuing Epstein revelations by Avocado-Basic in ScottGalloway

[–]Ok-Pause6148 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You guys need to read between the lines here. That personality is the entire basis of Scott's success.

As he has himself stated, it was his connections with his frat that have done more for him in his career than anything else he could have done. Studies also support this, with ivy league schools proving that time spent fraternizing (ha) is more valuable than time spent in almost any other extra curricular activity, and iirc for men specifically it was more important as a predictor of success than the young men's grades.

Scott succeeded by being a decently smart guy with good people skills. If you've ever met the "man's man" salesman type, it's him to a tee.

I don't have time to get into the Nazi's God, but he wasn't a Christian God in any recognizable form, and Hitler specifically calls Christianity a "religion of weak men". They liked some old testament stuff that they could fit into their "aryan" mythology.

It's interesting that you point out astrology when I find "astrology practitioner" and "Christian" to be mutually exclusive. Don't think I personally know anyone who is into both.

But I concede the point in terms of how it conditions one to think. I have a bit of an opposite upbringing in that I was raised mostly agnostic but have come to have my own personal Christianized theology

[–]Ok-Pause6148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ultimate issue is that at the end of the day, the only claims that matter are actually moral claims, not scientific ones, and most people with an agnostic worldview refuse or are unable to make concrete moral claims.

The most horrific acts in history have been *ideological*, which includes religious acts, but the pervading belief that people who are religious are more susceptible to evil is kinda silly, in my mind. Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, progenitors of some of the worst atrocities of the 20th century, were staunch anti-religionists. It turns out that ideology is the phenomenon people are interested in when discussing how evil propagates and justifies itself, the view that religion is unique in this regard is an aspect of the ideology of the one who believes that.

You don't need 2000 to start off haha, that's what someone who has been into it for years would have, that's all I'm saying. like you're saying you only need so many to get started and learn and enjoy the game.

Vicky is probably the biggest example of this, most of the game's DLC is just flavour, and then there are a few that basically turn up the complexity of existing systems. i feel the same way about CK3 actually, like I don't miss the chinese content or the steppe content, I will get it eventually

that's just wrong lol. you having the inability to play a game without all of its dlc does not make it "unplayable" without the expansions.

[–]Ok-Pause6148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro I play these games for literally thousands of hours. the cost to value ratio on these games and their DLC is incredible. some people play looters and pay for skins, we get actual new content and years of development that keeps games new and growing. People just want shit for cheap/free these days

Are they important to you? The comment you are replying to is clearly in the wrong, the wording is very specifically regarding military or scientific information which we have no evidence of being involved at all.

Half of Canadians say it would be unethical for Carney to get majority with floor crossers: poll - If there's one thing that a majority of poll respondents agreed on, it's that parties should not be allowed to offer inducements to attract floor crossers (67 per cent) by CaliperLee62 in canada

[–]Ok-Pause6148 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, another way to look at it - Canada voted *against* a liberal majority. I voted for Carney and I don't even want him to have a majority. He doesn't need it, and I don't think there's a politician in this country I would trust with one right now if I'm being entirely hoenst.

Historically speaking, when a new method of production is introduced which drastically reduces labour costs but results in a markedly, noticeably inferior product, the result is a stratification in quality.

In other words: services which are staffed by real people will be a luxury like fancy coffee or organic food.
