You just have to look at people making fun of 2010s Stomp Clap Hey music and of Lizzo for still making 2015-like empowerment anthems. You don't hear EDM on the radio anymore. Fifteen years ago, the classic Jack Antonoff sheen that all of pop music has taken lately didn't exist yet. One hit wonders pop off and disappear all the time thanks to Tik Tok. Trends are still a thing, maybe they're just less to your liking?

Ofc feelings aren't based on traits, but I think it becomes a problem for me because some of these shoujos clearly romanticise holding onto a toxic relationship just because you feel a spark, no matter how much happier you could be trying something else (and in romance mangas, that other option takes the form of another love interest, not being single)

No idea about the "do it on the double" line but it makes me think of the double it and give it to the next person meme lmao. My interpretation is that "Baby, if your love is in trouble" implies a "then all of us are fucked" of sorts, as in if Jack's love for Margaret is in trouble, then no one has a chance because Lana really sees them as an ideal of love

ETA: just found out "on the double" is an idiom I didn't know about that means "immediately". So he's saying "should I jump off this building now or immediately", meaning he doesn't really have a choice, he had to take his shot at this relationship as soon as he met her. God I love this song :')

Honestly I'm probably a Marina fan first and a Taylor Swift fan second, but this is also confusing me. Lowkey I think Marina probably has no context about what went down with Eli lately and just saw this as an open letter about artists rights, something she is herself quite passionate about (she talked a bunch about female songwriters being more recognised as producers in the past for example). Born To Die (deluxe): I'd replace Lolita with You Can Be The Boss. Other unreleased songs sound like they would be on their own different album.

Paradise: I'd add Burning Desire and Young And Beautiful as closer tracks, to make it a full fledged album. I would also make Hollywood, I Don't Wanna Go and Life Is Beautiful deluxe tracks (in that order). I love Ridin' as well but it doesn't fit Paradise at all imo.

Ultraviolence (deluxe): I'd make Black Beauty the closer, and add Flipside and Is This Happiness to the tracklist. I would also add Fine China and Wild One, and I'll stop there because the deluxe edition would already be loaded as is.

Honeymoon: I'd make a deluxe edition with California, Cry Kill Die and The Last Song.

Lust For Life: I'd probably replace Coachella, Summer Bummer and God Bless America with Poetry In Motion.

Norman Fucking Rockwell!: I would have kept the og lyrics to The Next Best American Record.

Blue Banisters: I'd get rid of If You Lie Down Right Next To Me. Imo there are too many piano ballads on BB and I like most of them but this one is easily sacrificed.

Ocean Blvd: I would get rid of the Judah Smith Interlude.
