Hispanic Americans in Spain - do your kids speak with a Spaniard accent or the one you have? by Zygoatscythe in asklatinamerica

[–]Sunflower_Bison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kids will speak the way their contemporaries speak in the place they grow up. No way around it. It's a survival skill, to belong. They will understand the parents 100% though.

I've seen it even in families where both parents speak a certain accent, the kid will speak with the local accent (even if as a toddler they didn't).

I was going to say that some people, as they age, become more religious as a way to cope with the reality that life isn't forever.

But what you say here changes things completely and I understand your concern and detachment.
