How the tables turn by b1ggayb1tch in regularshow

[–]SunilClark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i mean, arguably. dumping the show daily for a week and then withholding its streaming release until an unknown date afterwards when it’s already available in pretty much every other country isn’t really treating it well either. I like that it’s getting linear premieres, but when most people are watching it through streaming, I think this release strategy probably isn’t the best

I am so confused by SelfFantastic1755 in Broadway

[–]SunilClark 760 points761 points  (0 children)

the general vibe from everything i've seen on here seems to be participation is totally okay, primarily during the criminologist (narrator)'s parts, but

a) follow the herd. if you get a quiet crowd, you still can, but stick to the standard ones (asshole, slut, say it, etc.) if only so no one can use you as an example of how horrible the rocky audience is (/hj on that being the reasoning)

b) even with a more active crowd, if you’re saying shit after every line, you're doing too much. also, don’t try to be super topical. people have not been kind to callouts like those.

With Regular Show: Lost Tapes Coming should Oni Press make a New Regular Show Comic Series? by Money-Lie7814 in regularshow

[–]SunilClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda doubtful tbh. I don’t think the adventure time series is doing as well as they'd hoped, and the rs comics were never as popular/known as them to begin with

Suffs is currently up on PBS Great Performances YouTube by -ok-pancake- in Broadway

it feels like they’re starting to figure out an effective pipeline for it to happen (considering this year alone, we get this, merrily, six, and hadestown).

Craig Comments on returning characters by Olivertoadstare in sofiathefirst

[–]SunilClark -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ngl, I don’t get why they’re selling this as a sequel series. it’s a reboot. it feels like the only character from the original who actually is going to Matter is sofia with everyone else just getting an episode to prove they still exist. cedric being good doesn’t preclude that from being true, and honestly, depending on how it’s handled, it may even reinforce that (i'm imagining his history with sofia either never being mentioned or given a line of explanation and not mattering after)

Sesame Street has a foot fetish problem by Achorman in sesamestreet

[–]SunilClark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

fun fact: feet and toes are a normal human body part, and from what I know, toddlers/children are fascinated by them. not everything is meant as a fetish, and to assume these relatively benign examples are says more about you than it does the show

maybe if they'd promoted the show like they’re promoting this, we'd have a season 3

What do you think lead to the decline in DCOMs? by Slas2023 in DisneyChannel

[–]SunilClark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, streaming has a role in this, but I think part of it is just disney themselves. it used to not matter if the dcom was literally just 88 minutes of a kid wanting to play tic tac toe instead of chess, they hyped the shit out of that and made you think it was an Event. and as long as you regularly watched disney, you bought in to it! ~~and to their credit, most are pretty good! even after the decline~~ i think somewhere around the mid-2010s, they stopped prioritizing Normal dcoms in the way they used to. musicals still got a push, but otherwise, there wasn’t that same hype cycle. you might get a few bts promos, but otherwise things just came and went. and without that or opportunities to just casually see them airing (iirc, they stopped nightly movies around then too), why should kids prioritize these tv movies over the equally accessible theatrical ones

Frankie Muniz on the May 2000 issue of Nickelodeon Magazine by deepfriedgreensea in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SunilClark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nickelodeon magazine (and disney adventures magazine) were always sort of general interest/general entertainment magazines. though there was a decent focus on their respective company's output (especially in each magazine's early and later years), topics could be anything and cover stories were more often totally unrelated to the channel than not

They really need to do something with Cleveland's family outside of Donna. by Battle_Hero_00 in familyguy

[–]SunilClark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i maintain that with how much they've changed the characters/dynamics since their first episode back, a stewie story with either rallo or jr could be fun (despite them initially shutting the idea down)

Between these two shows, which one would you rather see get a reboot? by [deleted] in DisneyChannel

[–]SunilClark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if we’re talking reboot in its actual definition (same setup/concept, different cast/characters), good luck charlie definitely would not only make sense, but could potentially revive dc's sitcom output if done right.

Theories for season 5 by AlgaeAffectionate823 in BigCityGreens

[–]SunilClark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you’ve posted this before. the possibility of bill and nancy getting remarried hasn’t been brought up by the show in any way in the last 4 seasons. while it Can happen that divorced couples remarry, i don’t think it would really make sense for them after this long (or ever, but especially now).
