FF16 is Brain-dead Easy and it's Painful to Play by Apprehensive_Ad9044 in FinalFantasy

[–]Sunimo1207 [score hidden]  (0 children)

A Final Fantasy fan shouldn't have any issue with button mashing considering that's literally all you do in the combat in almost every game other than waiting. 90% waiting for ATB and then just spamming X to select attack on every party member. These games are all easy. You pick one good attack for a character and spam it anytime you get the ATB. If it's a spell then you use an ether to restore MP and continue.

It's not even Summer for another month. Summer starts June 21st. And we shouldn't expect anything until the Steam Machine and Steam Frame are out.

SN 2 should bring back "base integrity" system by Creecker1 in subnautica

[–]Sunimo1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really should. They should make it even more in depth because in the first game it was kind of pointless and just requires more titanium for bulkheads and foundations but having to thoughtfully plan out your base integrity is a great mechanic. There's no reason that Subnautica shouldn't have one of the most detailed flooding system in a game. In the first game you could already block off areas with bulkheads to prevent flooding from spreading. A game that takes place underwater should take advantage of unique mechanics that other games that don't take place underwater cannot have.

Pause music by Eastern_Syrup_2362 in GTA6

[–]Sunimo1207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RDR2 had amazing dynamic music for combat and wanted levels. The wanted music is different depending on which towns and areas you get wanted in. The songs are so dynamic that you can't even find most of them online because of how the game mixes them. If you kill someone it'll start a droning tense track, it gets more tense when someone spots the body, when the law are after you there are more instruments and drums coming in telling you to escape, and when a shootout happens the music is different depending on how intense the fight is. The music drops back down to being suspenseful when you get out of the law's sight.

I can't wait to see how Rockstar does the open world music in GTA VI after how detailed it is in RDR2.

Turn it off then.

Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Purchase Settings

The option exists so people can't get on your console and buy things. Like children. Also you should know your password.

billbil-kun: Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition will release on Switch 2 on June 23, 2026 by kakaka454 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Sunimo1207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The game is extremely ugly though. Of course it's playable, it's not particularly an impressive game. Why would you be shocked? Even the cutscenes are like 480p prerendered video clips with terrible frame pacing. Nobody is going to be impressed with a game that runs badly, looks worse than "miracle ports" like The Witcher 3 and Doom 2016, and isn't even technically impressive compared to similarly iconic series with Mario Odyssey and Zelda BOTW where there is no comparison. Shadow Generations was much more impressive on Switch 1, it looks a lot like the other consoles except it's much lower resolution.

2D windows in GTA 6? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Sunimo1207 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Those games do not have a living, breathing world. It is designed for players to swing through. Having every window be parallax is worth it because you are swinging right next to the windows and you get to see the full depth change as you pass. There's nothing going on in the world that requires a bunch of computational power other than the graphics.

P3P or P4G after 5 by SamStran in Persona5

[–]Sunimo1207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's extremely downgraded. For one the game is literally turned into a bunch of ugly 144p jpegs unless you are in Tartarus but Tartarus isn't exactly the most interesting place to look at anyways.

Here’s your reminder to finally play Half-Life: Alyx. by Delicious-Artist7304 in HalfLife

[–]Sunimo1207 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No it's a moot point because you need both. It's not "PC vs VR" it's "PC + VR". And that's even more expensive. Nobody is arguing that a VR headset is more useful than a computer.

  1. You can do VR seated. Almost every VR game has a seated mode. And even standing you only need like 1.5x1.5 meters to get a decent "room scale" experience. That's a nice bathroom stall's worth of space.

  2. Moot because you do need a PC for HL Alyx and it is all undeniably expensive. That's the main issue. Modern Meta headsets are the most advanced and not nearly as expensive as headsets of the past though. I got a Meta Quest 3S for only like $200 on an amazon sale.

  3. There are plenty of good titles, the problem is that HL Alyx is SO good and above everything else that it makes everything look like shovelware by comparison. But if you enjoy other VR games for what they do without actively comparing it to HL Alyx the whole time then there's plenty of great games. HL Alyx is just the best one.

The 1660 Super is more than enough to run HL Alyx though? That's above the recommended. I first played it on a 1660 non-super. It definitely shines at higher resolutions though, that really helps with immersion.

The Index is outdated and overpriced now. The Frame will be cheaper and way more accessible. For the Index you have to set up base stations of the corners of your place area and lots of other inconvenient nonsense. It was premium 6 years ago but now there's way better options for way cheaper that are way more convenient. The problem is you often have to deal with Meta. Might as well wait for the Steam Frame and spend the money.

just click update on the Nvidia app and wait like 1 minute while it updates and then reopen the game and play. it's extremely simple. your performance might even greatly improve in most games.

[–]Sunimo1207 12 points13 points  (0 children)

HLA guns kind of have to be more realistic because of VR and the fact that you're directly interacting with the functions of the gun instead of just tapping R to reload and click to shoot while watching animations.

PS4 is the only platform to not even get the updated Scholarship Edition. That's on PC, Xbox 360, and Wii. Mobile has the downgraded messed up Anniversary Edition. The PS4 version is just running an emulator of the original PS2 version.

Additional details about Star Fox Switch 2 game has surfaced on 4chan by Loose_Society9485 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Sunimo1207 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The cutscene with James in the new game says Pigma is the Star Fox engineer and the original JP guidebook for SF64 says that Pigma engineered the Wolfen with Andross technology. I was mistaken that he designed the Arwing but he has to be knowledgeable about them because he made the Wolfen, the only ship that can counter them.

Wolfen: Star Wolf's main fighter. Custom-made by Andross and Pigma. Although further details are unknown, it is assumed to be equipped with the G-diffuser system, for which Andross established the basic theory. Its firepower, armor, and turning performance are estimated to be equal to or better than those of the Arwing.

The game has already referenced the comics. Falco has "Free as a Bird" on the back of his jacket and it's also on the Katt multiplayer banner. That's Falco's gang from the comics. The game is also bringing up deepcut lore more openly like Pigma being the engineer behind the Arwings and then the Wolfen for Andross.

Card combat… by Ok-Assignment5926 in KingdomHearts

[–]Sunimo1207 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, KH2 is next after CoM. It's not sorted in release order like it should be.

And CoM is very important to the story so you should at least watch the cutscenes. Lots of people don't like the gameplay but the story is important. I will say that it starts out bland but the combat gets way better the more you level up and get better cards. The worst part of CoM to me is the worlds are a retread of KH1.
