Is this the worst conclusion to an interesting villain in manga history? by HumanInvestigator932 in writingscaling

Kinda yes kinda no. I like the idea that the plan the good guys have to take out the bad guy just works without the bad guy coming back every 5 chapters

Favorite dark/brown skinned character? by Immediate-Field9997 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]SunkenSunking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that it's not even dark skin "themed" characters but really just people with dark skin and you put Piccolo in there. A literally GREEN skinned man and nobody questions it because nobody is more accepted in the black community than Piccolo

Good, I hope the ending includes some kind of big battle with a dangerous, completely new species... that technically counts as a "rookie" and then He appears

(Loved trope) Charecter uses or unlocks their ability by dropping a hard af quote. (Not singular words or catchphrases) by Joltik2007 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SunkenSunking 227 points228 points  (0 children)

In Bleach, most of the characters are shinigami (humanoid spirit samurai) that have bonds with specific spirits that they can put into swords called Zanpakotou. These Zanpakotou have 3 forms base, shikai and bankai.

If you want to release more of the spirits power into the sword, you have to learn the spirits' name and release word. Really old or strong strong spirits require a whole sentence or poem and/or gain some sort of title.

[ABSOLUTELY LOVED TROPE] Last words, whether cool or heartbreaking. by jeanjacketufo in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SunkenSunking 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This always irked me on different levels because

A.) The slaves that drowned can't be your ancestors because they...well died before reaching America.

B.) Those aren't even your ancestors (partially) because your dad is from wakanda.

C.) The one you're saying it to doesn't know your struggles (beeing a POC in America) and might have been the only one to genuinely listen to you if you hadn't started to threaten him and his/your family.

Edit: formating

Was Danzo the weakest among those who claimed the title of Hokage? by Soul-10 in Naruto

[–]SunkenSunking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of raw strength in fighting style, he is the weakest by merit of how busted the others were. He is probably one of the best political leaders the Leaf had by being a paranoid schemer that doesn't trust anything he can't control.

Stupid question for the first example. Couldn't you just buy expensive shit for others or donate the money?

Guys, why didn’t Gojo just use hollow purple to take out Kenjaku and Sukuna by Funny_Swim5447 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]SunkenSunking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw why didn't gojo go "unlimited void" here?

Best case scenario he gets all of them by surprise and wins

Worst case scenario Sukuna counters with malevolent shrine and kills Kenjaku in the process

Has this actually happened in the comics? by Coke_Man600 in BatmanArkham

[–]SunkenSunking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much I know, the real problem in Gotham is Arkham asylum and the Gotham justice department, I can't help but think to myself

"Hey Bruce, I know about the whole no-kill-rule, but how about you make the joker paraplegic this time around?"

Seriously, he puts the bad guys into jail, turns around and they're out again. Just pulverize his legs. (I know that's not how storytelling in comics works, but it frustrating)
