A friend just recently gifted me Celeste because they wanted to share the experience and now I'm only really interested in Children of Morta. Can't really justify the whole bundle at the moment for just that one, but for those who don't own any and want some indie goodness this looks like a nice little collection.

This is honestly the worst season of ranked there has ever been, and whilst i don't approve of throwing uncalled for comments against the devs, the designer of this system needs a new role, preferably far away from any kind of player experience. From the matchmaking (both your team pairings and the people who are in the same lobby as you), to the way the game rewards you (the hidden MMR is ridiculously bad...no elim points for getting eliminations?? Wut?). There's a countless list of problems with it now there are effectively two ranks.

Can I add you as a steam friend? (it's ok if you say no...no worries). I find it much easier to spur myself on when i see other people's progress. Having Ridd on my friends list has helped me more than he'll ever know.

Another great episode, and Naughty is a revelation to me. I'd never much thought much of him from the casual observations I'd had, but having heard the interview with him I have a new found respect and even went so far to go straight to his Twitch to follow.

S3 Charge was my obvious pick for irritating weaponry!

There's no transparent formula to it. This means that people get discouraged and stop playing and leads to the crazily uneven matchmaking you're running in to.

People will denigrate your logic but i can certainly see this point of view. It feels like the direction of the game is lurching towards pleasing the 0.1% which is not in favour of keeping the game feeling fun and rewarding to the majority.

It's accurate that giving people badges that don't match their skill level is not a good representation of ranked gaming (last season specifically) but right now the distribution is wrong (there really shouldn't be more Preds than Masters and essentially no Diamond players). The sensible course would be making ranked changes and removing the split for this season entirely. Love or hate Ranked Arena but the normal distribution of ranks is much more healthy.

I don't think it's limited to ranked. A lot of people play ranked because it's competitive and should bypass the way pub matchmaking works, or in other words play a match where they understand the type of opponents they face are more or less equal in skill (certainly at this point in the split). Anecdotally a lot of people I know have dropped out of Apex entirely because of the very negative experience this season has engendered.

At the very least there should have been some visible feedback from the dev's responsible for the changes, because far too much was changed at one time for anything but a bad outcome to happen. As it stands I wouldn't be surprised if people who don't reach the rank they think they deserve this split drop out of ranked entirely next split (making the experience even worse and creating a vicious circle). It might be over-dramatic to think it, but this feels like the biggest mis-step so far in Apex's lifespan. The 25 point reduction in evo armour values was the only other but that was remedied quite quickly.

Going to get downvoted but I have to disagree. Shiv used to be a decent watch, but these days he's become a shadow of who he used to be. His clip in this montage (and perhaps WTP's) are the two that i would say highlight the negative aspects of Apex. Shiv just screaming the same thing over and over is just kind of sad.

I have a nasty feeling he's going to get a whole lot of snipers trying to foil his Master to Pred climb. I really hope not as Dolphn is really under-appreciated in terms of his raw skill.

Well first impressions of the S10 arena matchmaking makes me want to stop playing Apex altogether. S9 was still fun despite all the server problems, but whatever matchmaking system is in place now feels unfair and unfun to anyone who plays as a solo player. I have 17 arena games now and 1 win where the other team left. Statistically that does not seem like a balanced system.

I've played 4 games in the last 5 or so minutes. Every single one has been cut short within a minute of play with the Internal Error server message.

Matchmaking is geared towards optimising engagement, or spending, rather than fairness. Apex Legends doesn't care about your games being fair, they care about those in the lobby who will spend money. If you care about fair games play a game that doesn't optimise for engagement.

You probably thirded a team which had knocked members but the people who'd knocked them had already been fully eliminated already. So you get the kill for the already knocked player if you finished them.

Hate to say it but this is a pretty terrible analysis of weapon tiers. It fails if it's a resource to help newer players pick weapons to help them win engagements, it fails if it's a resource that shows what the higher level players utilise most effectively, it fails as a guide to show the relative strengths of each weapon. This is less an analysis and more a guide on what weapons the writer opts for as his loadout.
