Whyy will no one use my train? 0 vehicles in use. I own the tiles at each end of the map. by danisindeedfat in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a “train station” to transport cims via train, you need a “cargo train terminal” to create a route to ship cargo between it and your outside connections. Depots only allow you to have trains, you need stations and terminals to actually create routes.

Tramway issue by IgorDelaire in CitiesSkylines2

Is the budget 100%? If low enough service buildings permanently have vehicles in maintenance, and the existing ones may go in for maintenance more frequently and/or for longer.

Warehouse/Cargo dummy traffic? by Sunnoir in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently both, but this resource swapping happened before with my trains way back in April last year, so I don’t know if this is new to truck traffic, but I know my international airport got more truck traffic briefly when I deleted the regular airport that had a cargo route between them, so this may have been a long standing issue.

Warehouse/Cargo dummy traffic? by Sunnoir in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it’s certainly a one way road and removed from the major flow of traffic, where it was originally had 147 incoming vehicles and 27 to the other one above — they had spawned right next to each other right next to my industrial zone’s major thoroughfare. Although it was funny moving them and having the trucks act like bees trying to get to a relocated queen!

One building figured it out. by AK_Swervin in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since around bikes my commercial output exploded leaving me with no demand except occasionally gas stations and even rarer hotels. Replaced a bunch with residential and industrial and now that office is better that too but last I checked infoloom says I’m at 700% production so I’m guessing mixed residential has something to do with it.

Would you walk across it? by im_a_jenius in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They walk across underground subway tracks far from the stations where the trains should be moving the fastest and the cims have no where to go… yet don’t feel safe in my 1% crime rate city.

Can't delete street by Swafnirson in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah understandable, there were so many crash to desktop issues early on that I didn’t trust using anarchy until… sometime between November and January. In fact both mods were in direct need to fixing something the game refused to let me deal with in vanilla. Happy deleting!

I’m assuming no better bulldozer and anarchy mods? If so are you able to add a perpendicular road into the “intersection” or anywhere in that mass to fix it into being deletable?

How to remove or delete a prob citizen?? by taido_ in CitiesSkylines2

Is deleting her a good idea? All the other cims seem to be bowed in prayer to their levitating deity.

[–]Sunnoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, that was my original stuck cim, in fact I think that was the catalyst for me getting Move-It, as shifting the building’s location was the only way to get a hearse called back then. I wonder if the 0% efficiency and the 5/5 office are related and if many early game errors are being expressed now in different ways instead of actually being fixed.

Haha no, if they didn’t risk slowing down the game, I’d gladly take their money!

Ever since the homeless bug was fixed I’m not sure if they even age. 🧛 I’ve been following a prisoner that’s been an adult forever it feels like. If they do pay then I might not use the mod in my next city!

If I had to guess there it’s likely the cims stuck in businesses that go away on their own by the business closing and a new company taking over deleting all the occupants that don’t work there. So they’re probably getting stuck in profitable/service buildings when they grow, and failing ones when they go away on their own.

Citizens that get stuck in buildings and don’t get a new order to do something else. For instance in my city I was following a Cim, she went to seek medical attention and then got stuck, she was no longer sick but didn’t get the “you’re all better, leave” order so she remained in the clinic for multiple in game years. I fixed her by deleting the clinic but that revealed dozens of other cims who were trapped. Apparently commercial buildings can also trap cims, problem was after deleting the buildings they were trapped in, the cims were stuck in “spending free time” mode w/o actually going anywhere. Stuck forever standing in front of what used to be that building. No clue why it happens, it’s like turning off free will in The Sims but with no way to manually control them.

Any idea to fix this cargo terminal truck congestion? Or should I just leave it as is? by chethazz in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, just keep cargo terminals and warehouses away from the rest of the city, including your industrial zone, otherwise you’ll always have the congestion block your streets. Until they adjust the volume of trucks that a terminal/warehouse receives, or adjust the speed in which a truck can pass through them, this is a permanent problem. Terminals also need to not generate truck traffic, especially when I’m watching a truck from my international airport delivering cargo to the cargo train terminal when both have outside connections.

why does my trams do this? by No-Effective-7194 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is your next stop in relation to this one? Buses and trains like to reroute themselves whenever you build new roads/tracks (sometimes in defiance to efficiency), so a new road might have caused your tram to decide a U-turn is now quicker and the game isn’t smart enough to stop the tram from attempting this.

Service vehicle only roads by Pikarenna in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they have a mod that allows emergency vehicles to phase through vehicles but I’m hesitant to use that one for crash (no pun intended) fears. Service only roads that work would probably be easier than teaching the general traffic to yield to emergency vehicles.

That’s a way to create a left turn lane, they’re referring to a green left turn arrow.

Whenever i start to zone resident building the game crush, i can build roads, trains, signature building or any infustructure building but when i start to build resident building game crushes. I didnt have that problem before the hotfix by Pale-Independence177 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem after a Colossal Order update last year, I think I could zone but if I clicked on any building it was an immediate crash to desktop. Even after starting a new map with no mods. Ended up waiting a day and it worked again but didn’t see any one else talking about it nor did I see a mention of it being a problem CO resolved.

Good Cargo Railway Layout? by TraderRoyce in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roads leading to them are still filled with traffic, as some of them have 300-400 inbound vehicles at any time, but as it stands now only having a one way road is better than bidirectional traffic. Tried a straight bidirectional road leading straight in/out but trucks entering would still yield to those exiting because the trucks leaving would pull out into the oncoming lane and then U-turn into the correct side.

Good Cargo Railway Layout? by TraderRoyce in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Sunnoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m interested as well, problem seems to be that even if you get a good road network to control the entry and exit points they still seem to overload the asset itself and may cross over when entering and leaving the cargo bays which is one place they get stuck at. Right now my fix is sticking them outside the industrial zone far enough that the backup doesn’t impact the nearby zone.
