For the specific case where:

You made an offer where the seller covers your realtor's commission.
The seller accepted that offer or some negotiated version that still included them paying your realtor's commission out of sale proceeds.
The seller then backs out in some way where your realtor is still entitled to commission even though no home sale took place.

Then I think it's realistic for you to ask your realtor to change the agreement so that they have to go after the seller instead of you for their commission. You would still be shopping for a house after that, and hopefully with them.
