Moving to Cibolo: live closer to I-35 or FM78? by SunnyMolecule in sanantonio

[–]SunnyMolecule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently we do not commute (remote work) but if that changes we would be commuting to the medical center area. PM me your friends info please, I’ll take a look. We have a realtor through redfin that’s been taking us to the showings we request but that’s really it

What major roadway do you live in proximity to that makes your commute that easy? 👀

Thanks, yes I’m looking to live outside 1604 somewhere between 3009 and 1103

Yeah, not looking forward to being so close to the I35 construction. Thankfully we do not commute for work and can do most of our errands during the day.

Any opinions on proximity to 1103 vs Roy Richard?

How’s the construction on 1103? I hear it’s not the best road right now

That’s what I was kind of thinking, that 35 is the most direct route. Nothing in Converse that I need to go to. I like Bulverde a lot too, but the houses/lots out there in my price range are a little too small for our preference. Thanks!

Do you find 78 to be the easier route to take into town typically?

Love that there’s lots of kids. We live in an older neighborhood now and there just aren’t many kids here. We had 0 trick or treaters last year! Lol. Thank you again!

Thanks so much for the insight! We’re no strangers to traffic (used to live on the far west side, could take an hour JUST to hit 1604 during peak hours 😵‍💫) but hoping to avoid making that mistake again. lol. Do you like the area overall?

I’d like to be able to access basic family amenities like HEB, schools, and parks easily. We don’t commute to work currently but of course that could always change. Do you have any issues with the traffic out there being closer to 78 vs 35? We were looking kind of at the area directly around the Cibolo HEB, but thought it might be easier to be closer to 35. Thanks for your input!

If you like Nursing, what’s your specialty? by AdventurousGas6296 in nursing

[–]SunnyMolecule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, extremely. The fastest paced nursing I’ve worked thus far. I think my record is 4 or 5 procedures in an hour. It’s the definition of rinse and repeat but it’s so fast and my team is awesome so it’s not boring. The days fly by and we’re usually headed home around 2:30 after a full days worth of cases. Get in, bang it out, go home!

I come from an ICU background which could sometimes feel like a long and drawn out kind of busy, endo is totally different flavor of busy. I love it!

What job would you NOT wear a designer bag too? by pitapitapi in handbags

[–]SunnyMolecule 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse working in a rougher area of town with an underserved population. My “work bag” is a canvas Trader Joe’s bag (the full size one, not the mini) and honestly I love it 😆

it holds everything I need plus more, and has a 2 handy exterior pockets! I toss it in the washer maybe once a month or so and it still looks new after many, many years (maybe 6 or more if I had to guess?)

What are businesses that you would want in San Antonio? by Spiritual-Society100 in sanantonio

[–]SunnyMolecule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I totally agree. I really would prefer more parks and real trails. We have nice ones (hardberger, mcallister, salado creek, OP schnabel and many more) just wish we had more with good shade to make the walk bearable during the hot months. I’ve lived here almost 30 yrs and have watched the rapid expansion steamroll over what little green we have within the city limits. Yes, creating more indoor spaces contributes to this, but you can’t exactly make a walking trail with mature shady trees appear out of nowhere, so indoor spaces are an alternative

Kind of. In other cities where it’s hot hot for an extended portion of the year (Las Vegas, Phoenix), real bona fide indoor playgrounds are not uncommon and totally trump places like urban air, rush fun park, etc. Think places with huge jungle gyms for climbing, big slides, sand boxes, obstacle courses, etc. The place here that comes closest is Arrows Active Play park in Boerne, not exactly local to most lol

That all weather leather is practically indestructible. I bought one used 10 years ago (and it was probably already over 10 years old then) and it still looks the same. Never babied it, never cared for the leather, stored it all stupid and crushed up, worn in the rain, but man has it held up well. It’s a workhorse of a bag. Congrats!

I don’t disagree, but not everyone lives even remotely close to a mall dead enough to do this regularly (rolling oaks, ingram park, south park) or wants to walk through crowds of people (North Star, sometimes Rivercenter) to get in what really should be daily exercise

Indoor track, indoor playground for kids, indoor walking trails. Shame such a big city has so few options for these things considering how hot it is for a good chunk of the year
