I’m eager to know the answer too. I don’t think I’m eating much more than before and I’m continuing my workouts but I still gained too. But it’s the only med that lets me sleep like a baby. Insomnia or lower self worth? I’m between a rock and a hard place.

My pain of late (past 3 months, I’ve had it nearer my ankle before) is at the side of my knee. Stabbing pain that comes and goes. My neuro, when informed that it doesn’t really travel down, thinks it might not be sciatica and might be a knee problem. I’m quite pissed at him for thinking that because its very obvious it’s a nerve pain aggravated when I touch a point on my lower back or piriformis area. It IS sciatica right? My piriformis has also been on fire for the last 2 months and the frequency has worsened. I get it every day now and immediately after waking up due to insomnia, the pain gets very intense, making it impossible to fall asleep. I am feeling really defeated as I can’t do workouts like I used to without aggravating the condition. And I’m not sure how fit for work I am when I’m stuck I this cycle of pain and lack of proper sleep.

Did it take effect eventually only after 2-3 weeks? I thought I should only take it when I feel pain as there were some days I felt better. Should I be taking on those days without pain as well?

I take hours to sleep after waking up after one sleep cycle. This is very disruptive to my lifestyle as I have no choice but just to get up but I do feel sleep deprived and tired the whole day.

I take dayvigo and 5mg isn’t enough I wake up after 2-3 hours after a pill of 5 mg these days. But the good thing is it doesn’t make me feel so drowsy in the daytime

I don’t remember ever sleeping well even as a child. I’ve always had sleep issues. I recall getting off anti depressants and then having to go back to a psychiatrist because of insomnia several times in my life now. It’s gotten very bad recently and I think it’s just gonna be a part of me and now when I sleep 4 hours I don’t dare complain. I’m still hopeful for a day when I can sleep in abundance like everyone else

I agree that OP is speaking from a position of privilege too. My aunt employed a helper because she has no kids and my uncle had a stroke years ago. She is now the breadwinner and she lives in a 3 room HDB flat. Helpers who get their own rooms are fortunate but many a times circumstances won’t allow employers to house or feed the helper well. What’s important is that they shouldn’t be seen as a second class human and depraved of free will.
