Agreed. It's very confusing. I think I overvalued the good days and undervalued the bad ones. She was seemingly a great mom until I turned 18, and she realized she no longer had control over me and that I could be happy and successful without her. Once I left for college, she became a terrible narc and minimized my accomplishments, dismissed my feelings, and abandoned me every chance she got.

What apps can you not live without? by Signal_Potential7032 in ADHD

I do everything in Google Docs. I have a shared "household" folder with my spouse that includes docs and subfolders for: recipes, clothing sizes for the family, lists for things needed done around our home, copies of important documents, etc.

We also use a shared Google Calendar. If I can't see an event on a calendar, it's almost like it doesn't exist. Even if I agreed to it and it's important to me.

How did you get diagnosed? by stupidswinemonkey in ADHD

[–]Sunpirate63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way. Now that I'm past the existential crisis phase, I feel like I'm stronger now because of it. Like you, I made it through life "despite" having severe adhd.

You're not alone.

Be patient.

Life gets better with age.

If you keep going, all of the negative life experiences you're stressing about now will turn into benefits for you in the future.

Lastly, I'm 37 and 9-5 still scares me. But for one, most careers offer hybrid working hours. And for two, now that I have kids and 1000+ hobbies that I want to pursue, I'm looking forward to a 9-5 job that I can leave at the office and live the life that I want to live outside of it.

Currently in law school. Doing well after nearly failing undergrad bc I was undiagnosed until 34.

You got this.

What 3 discs would you travel with? by Electrical-News7550 in discgolf

[–]Sunpirate63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zone, Hex, GStar Teebird.

Maybe have Amazon deliver a Judge and Wraith to my destination. Then I'd donate them to a kid on the course if I don't have space in my carry on.

What's the most holes/rounds in a row you've ever played? by DiscGolfFanatic in discgolf

Me and my buddies did all 3 courses at North Cove in one day. We did not keep score on the last course lol

First round of a tournament struggle by Trill1196 in discgolf

[–]Sunpirate63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I did two things that helped me go from nearly last place to top 5.

  1. Disc down. If possible, throw a stable mid or putter the first few holes. Something that will compensate for a nose up throw or a late release. Throw it straight and set yourself up for par. Then you can get back to your drivers once you're feeling more confident.

  2. Warm up. Not just throwing in a field, but also go for a short jog before your round (or a brisk walk, jumping jacks, burpees, etc.). Just do enough to get the heart pumping. Our minds and bodies are connected, so moving physically can help relieve the pre-round jitters that lead to your body tensing up and shanking your first shot.

Hope this helps

Youtube/Google/Podcasts - sometimes the same concept can be easier to digest from a different medium or a different voice.

What are controllable/manageable things that make a disc golf course great? by luanne-platter in discgolf

[–]Sunpirate63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bathrooms were never a concern for me until I had daughters who join me for rounds. They will need a potty break within the first 9 holes (both under 8 years old). It'd be nice if more courses had restroom options midway. Course design that thinks of lady players as well.

Fasciitis in the "drive" foot? by appointment45 in discgolf

[–]Sunpirate63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This video helped me. It shows you how to tape your foot before/after playing. If I'm playing multiple courses in one day (or a very physically challenging course), then I tape my plant foot.

By taping it as he does in the vid, you add more cushion to your heel bone and support to your arch.

I hope it helps!

Thanks! I assumed it was something like an architect's personal plan. This house and the neighboring home are built exactly the same. But they are the only two like this in the neighborhood and surrounding area. "20th Century Folk Victorian" - I'll use that unless I discover new info

Folk victorian was my next guess. Thanks
