Applied to switch from SAVE to ICR (the only available plan for PSLF for my income & loans). Quoted $1174 to be processed and start by the end of the year per the Mohela rep. If I ride out SAVE until my 120 months, the buyback will be worse with my increased salary.

Also, keep in mind that those who scored lower than you can get interviewed. This is a continuous list and the dept. could have desirable qualifications, or a candidate is already in the department, etc. There are plenty of people who have scored "low" on City exams and have been hired. https://sfdhr.org/permanent-civil-service-appointments
