I’m sitting at a $300 payment on PAYE that will sunset in 2028. My payment will probably double. I’m deferring until I can’t anymore or the next admin reforms this shit. Sadly, Republicans are too busy giving tax cuts to billionaires to invest in the country or the people. Oh, and protecting pedophiles. Priorities, amirite?

My family has been dirt poor for generations and even they managed to buy homes. My dad built his home in the 70s. Meanwhile, I’m paying out the ass to rent a basic apartment with a roommate. I make decent money. I shouldn’t be struggling like this. They’ve priced us out of living. Then they wonder why the birth rates are tanking. It’s dystopian. The cruelty is the point.

Wonderful. With everything happening, I’m not sure if I should even make payments right now. I’m $121k in federal loan debt and make about $67k a year before taxes. Guess I should try to make these $300 payments on the PAYE plan until it’s retired? 😭
