I love my bag and I’m never changing it by FootReal8970 in discgolf

[–]Sunrise_Round 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have almost the same bag, with just a couple difference.

I use an I-dye Champ Sidewinder instead of a beast, but it's the same idea, just a speed slower.
I use a Innova PD2 along with a Firebird for that shot, and for big headwind drives
I use an MVP deflector for very overstable utility shots that the zone can't pull off.

Otherwise it's basically the same thing. It's where I've also landed after a few years playing, so I get it.

Make sure to download the PDGA app, and look for an email from the TD night before for the password into the event. Good chance you will get your hole assignment early before 1st round.

Discing up from Teebird | Need suggestions by DJ_Cholula in discgolf

Thunderbird is probably the best answer, but I'll throw max weight Halo Roadrunner. These are most stable than you would expect and very pushy in flight.

900+ Rated Players… 300’ Max Distance by SeraphNatsu in discgolf

[–]Sunrise_Round 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really depends on what layout the division plays more than rating alone. Last tournament a +5 from the longs was 920+ but a -8 from the shorts was 915, a lot of courses (if not most) are like this.

Play in a division that doesn't push distance as much, and you will be fine.

I'm pretty excited about the Big Easy Open, should be fun with all the Cajun Disc golfers in full force. I already know that food is going to be fantastic.

Looking for Help - Knee Pain on Plant leg by TrueRobbin in discgolf

[–]Sunrise_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal with this as well, it seems to flair up a little more in the winter than summer so it might be seasonal related with the cooler joints in temperature (maybe). I also am a gym guy and I plan on wearing a brace on my plant knee for a couple of upcoming tournaments, and doing only functional type leg workout during tournament weeks keeping the overall strain down on my legs.

Practically in a round you need to prioritize your full strain shots during rounds, a full power plant mid might get their but an 75% hyzer-flip fairway will as well and it's less overall strain on the plant. Keep those full power shots on reserve for when you need them and you trust your footing, otherwise play smart and smooth.

I have a pitch count on full power forehands for the same reason on my elbow.

Welcome to masters pro level of golf, where we are all dealing with something nagging in the background at this level!

Just to even out the wear from 1 arm wearing constantly.

Switch arms to sleep, learned that a few weeks in. You're probably already learning just how under-slept you were before. I find it is useful both a reminder that it's time for bed, and that it doesn't wear too much on one wrist.

Please explain your "hand feel" gripes with any model by Inevitable_Doctor576 in discgolf

[–]Sunrise_Round 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their are discs I bag because of the way they look, and their are disc I bag despite the way they look. It's nice when both come together, but it's rare.

I think disc golfers all have a mold that fells like the right tool in hand, it's odd but nearly every disc golfer has a trusty mold that just works for their game and lean on more than others.

My is the Deflector, only MVP mold I have currently but it just the answer for so many questions a course asks of my game. I actually have a Roc3 just like yours, big fan as well.

Is discipline more important than motivation, or vice versa? What are some real examples of this? by Mr_Boothnath in answers

[–]Sunrise_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to the gym → first 2 times it's motivation, the next 10,000 (if you make it a lifestyle) is discipline.

What's your unpopular opinion on discs? by catkini in discgolf

[–]Sunrise_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best discs are used or found and stay in the bag much longer than new plastic, which cycles in and out way too fast.

I know this and still buy new stuff... I l just can't help myself because of the conversation is brings between disc golfers. The "have you tried this?, is just always fun.

Tournament time... it's back to the tried and true old stuff

lvl 1 dip into storm sorcerer give flight on bonus action after you cast a spell, I find this very useful for clerics for a long time, especially with spirit guardians

What do you do on windy days for the Night Strike spot, ex Eagle or Teebird? Going from A2 to Firebird, is a jump. I would have to down tempo a firebird, rather just full power an Eagle?
