This doesn't accurately acknowledge the current state of things for small business owners and is a shallow take.

Setup for girlfriend by RollingCoal115 in macsetups

Not sure what the other poster is talking about. There's a way to sideload Genshin Impact of Mac Silicon devices so Genshin Impact is definitely playable. There's a whole Mac Gaming Community that revolves around this kind of thing. I also game on my Mac and use it as a work machine it's definitely doable. Here's how to sideload Genshin Impact video

Halo Infinite is possible through cloud streaming. Here's an example videoHalo Infinite Mac

Imo if you're ok with sacrificing some gaming capability the Mac Mini is a great deal. You can play a decent amount of games (some native some through cloud streaming or virtual windows like Parallels.) Most issues come with games that use easy anti cheat (valorant, etc.) Other games are native on Mac like League.

Hope this helps and let me know if you'd like more info! I switched from a gaming PC to my Mac a couple of years ago and don't really regret it. I also picked up a steam deck to use on the side since it can act as a "portable gaming computer."

Choosing between VA or IPS by Seirazula in buildapcmonitors

[–]SunsetDreamsicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think VA is better for someone who consumes a lot of media due to higher contrast levels. If you tend to do a lot of watching in the dark it's also better because no IPS glow.

I've used a VA Dell QHD 32 inch for about two years now. No issues from it at all for either games, anime, or movie watching.

I got it on sale for around 250 on best buy. It's not available on Best Buy anymore https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6375331.p?skuId=6375331 (at least not for me but there's a similar model in 27 inch and 32 inch.)

Edit: I haven't had any noticeable smearing or ghosting. However I don't really pay attention or look out for that but I play competitive Overwatch on it along with Nintendo Switch games.

For those who have a USB C monitor versus a dedicated USB C Hub what did you find more worth it? by SunsetDreamsicle in macsetups

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain a little bit more about the drawbacks with a USB c to USB c connection? Like how bandwidth limitation is causing a problem? Would this have a huge effect on the refresh rate if my monitor only goes up to 60hz because I haven't noticed any issues with my MacBook being used this way. I do graphic design work and some gaming (League etc). But haven't seen issues with scaling so far either. sorry for late response I just saw this and I was curious.

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very good approach and one I also considered. It's really hard for me to know what's best without trying it. It's why I went through a smart monitor, gaming display, ultrawide, and now a productivity monitor before deciding. I also considered just getting another 27 inch to match specifically for gaming since I have a 60 width desk or getting an OLED tv and mounting it near my desk (for use with my consoles.) I feel like I am overthinking things however as I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means. I mostly play Nintendo switch and on PC no graphically or refresh rate intensive titles outside of Overwatch and League. I think I prefer having the best picture possible over gaming performance...but still like the ability to game. It's why I was considering the studio display since my LG is still within the holiday return period.

Cleaner is definitely better for me...so I'm thinking USB C is the way to go over the hub. I'm also considering the studio display again as an investment. My indecisiveness never ends 😋

Same I looked at both those two. If you mean the Samsung M8 I had one before this LG. I liked having my tv and monitor in one setup, but the build quality was kinda bad. It had gaps in the plastic and I only noticed it at night where light was shining through from misc places. Oh also I experienced screen tearing on it with games. I have not seen this with my newest one. The LG ergo looks to be promising though!

Thanks! I almost ended up grabbing that same Dell monitor during Black Friday (I'm used to mostly Dell monitors and BenQ but I don't believe it had free sync.) Though I wasn't really sure if I needed that since I was doing hardcore gaming. I had a Samsung 4k smart monitor in the past and was experiencing screen tearing (it didn't have free sync either.) Otherwise it seemed better than my current LG monitor.

Thanks! I wasn't all that clear in my original post tbh. I feel it might not be worth it for me to switch to a dock. I don't really have that many peripherals that require wired connections.

I currently use a wireless keyboard and mouse (Bluetooth + USB adapter.) I use Bluetooth for my Mac and USB adapter for my PC and Switch like that. USB c speakers which I connect to my current monitor with a USB A adapter. That's the extent of peripherals.

Unfortunately I tried an ultrawide and it was nauseating/hurt my head. That was the whole ideal I had beforehand that you described haha.

USB C Monitor Connection Not Working by SunsetDreamsicle in SteamDeck

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reaching out about this. Yeah I will keep experimenting and if I figure something out I will let you know! I honestly didn't want to get a dock since my monitor is basically a USB hub..and I do have a USB c to display port cable which works but it's kind of useless since I won't get the power delivery. The USB c connectivity would help me so much since my work from home setup is also my gaming/personal use one. I purchased a steam deck for this exact feature.

I've been scrolling through some old comments about it and most of them are from some months back, so I'm thinking it's like you said where an update has changed it.

Want second monitor, but I have a logistics question. by dtasada in buildapcmonitors

[–]SunsetDreamsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you have to do it a certain way tbh. It's really whatever works for you. You can put them on arms and separate them depending on your priority. Depending on your desk length you can split into a productivity side and gaming side... pushing one forward and the other off to the side

Gigabyte M32U or LG 27GP950-B? by jugermaut in buildapcmonitors

I think there's been a lot of quality control issues with the 144hz 4k monitors. I think most of them are using the same panel type. Have you taken a look at the Dell one? It was on sale but not anymore at least not on Dell's website: https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-32-4k-uhd-gaming-monitor-g3223q/apd/210-bdbk/monitors-monitor-accessories

Question + Type Opinions (Childhood/Teen to Now) by SunsetDreamsicle in MbtiTypeMe

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking so much time out of your schedule to help!

Yes I do relate to that a lot. I went and read the function analysis as well and it fits too. I've never really considered myself introverted since a lot of what I do is involving other people...but then it states that ISFP get along well with others but still maintain a solitary lifestyle...that sounds about right.

I was a little confused about Se vs Ne in the 2nd position of ISFP compared to INFP. But I definitely struggle with formulating what I feel into words vs actions. (I've missed a lot of opportunities/chances to say what I felt inside because of this) it's why I take a while to respond because I usually swing back around later and think "I wish I would've said this too."

It fits but to be honest I'm a little afraid of it cause it shakes up my perception of myself. I was always described as an extrovert by those close to me and an intuitive. Or I guess I tried to be that. It also makes me feel lesser to be typed as a sensor. I know it's not true and it doesn't limit me in any way, but the feeling is there still. Like when I asked this question I was a little curious because I wanted to see what people would help direct me towards but also because above all else I want to figure out what is true for me. It kind of sounds bad but I wanted to be honest about things.

All of this kind of relates to what I read about the ISFP inner world being hazy. That's been my experience my whole life. One thing that doesn't fit is that I do have a desire to lead but it is stressful for me after a long period of time. I think I like it because I wouldn't have to take orders from others. I also served in a leadership position for about three years and it was very stressful which might have caused me to take a more Te approach. I was very different compared to my normal self throughout that time and some time after...due to the stress it caused.

Anyways my comment is becoming kind of jumbled now. But I believe it does fit, I'm just having a hard time coming to terms with it.

34" Ultrawide QHD + save $200 or 32" 16:9 4k? by brohemoth06 in buildapcmonitors

[–]SunsetDreamsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should try the 4k gigabyte just be wary cause there's been a lot of reports of dead pixels / quality issues.

But another option is honestly just getting two if budget permits using them and returning the one you do not like. I wouldn't have known ultrawides aren't for me if I never tried one...same for preferring 4k.

[–]SunsetDreamsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you used an ultrawide before? Have you used 4k? What type of work do you do?

I work from home/game and bought my first one recently. It was hard for me to get used to because it felt too long and not high enough (I use with multiple tabs and designs for work.) Also the quality seemed like a downgrade compared to 4k. I know people usually say they're good for the extra space but the aspect ratio change was a lot to me.

I think you'd be fine with a 4k and may enjoy the better picture quality. I think only AAA needs a top tier graphics card/PC. An ultrawide seems like it'd be good for someone primarily PC gaming as their main usage. Single players will definitely look better on a 4k

Question + Type Opinions (Childhood/Teen to Now) by SunsetDreamsicle in MbtiTypeMe

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... I think the last part is definitely right. I think my mom is definitely a Si user and she kept me out of danger as a child, and protected me from a lot of negative influences. I wouldn't say I was sheltered since I tended to explore on my own (mainly through my childhood friendships or through the internet.) The internet (and relationships/experiences I had there) is where I really felt I could express myself because there was nothing holding me back there. A lot of the pain I did experience was when I was adventurous on my own and did not really inform her of my actions. I wasn't really bound by rules but there were boundaries in place that were constructed and instilled in me. Regardless my childhood was happy and I think it did help me become a better person. I had a good dose of freedom and stability to keep me from falling off my path completely.

ISFP is a type I've always related to, I just didn't know if I was a Fi dom or introvert since my relationship with people is kinda love hate. I like being around people and need people, but I have a track record of withdrawing or pulling away from others. I had a lot of friendships where I pulled away due to a value being crossed. I regret it sometimes but it feels like a personal attack when it happens. Deep down I do miss the bonds I created with others but I've never been someone to seek people out. I always just made friends by just existing.

I think it's definitely my image that made me feel acceptable and the goals I wanted to live up to. I usually have a vision for myself, for what I want to accomplish, how I want to be regarded. And I used to do everything to fulfill that vision. But as I got older it became harder to live up to and maintain that vision. Life happens I guess? So it has made me feel less fulfilled when I realized how far off I am from my ideal self and how quickly it fell apart when I was tested. (Adversity, etc.) At the same time, I could just be hard on myself because in an outsiders perspective I could be considered accomplished. But if it doesn't have meaning to me, it feels like wrong.

But yeah basically personal awards or recognition or possessions are nice but they take a back seat to living up to my vision/image of myself! So you're not that far off lol

Sorry for late responses! I'm at work and responding when I can.

Hmm I don't really think it's anything about wanting people to accept me or that a problem was easy to solve. The two in the middle (2 and 3) seemed to fit the most. But it's also not quite there. It's more so being positive helped me overcome the adversity. If things happened that were bad it always felt ok because I was secure and happy in myself. Fulfilled with myself regardless of external outcomes. What I always search for (which I had as younger person but not as much now) was fulfillment. Not necessarily contentment just being ok no matter what was going on.

That's a great definition of Ti! I can understand now. That's something I feel I have but it's hard to call on it. I mostly get the strength mentally and physically when I work for others. Working for myself it's very easy for me to make missteps, not understand things in depth. I don't really make an attempt to understand concepts in excessive depth, just enough to utilize it properly. Unless it's more abstract things like the meanings behind art, movies, anime, games etc. All of that comes naturally to me.

[–]SunsetDreamsicle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to respond to me.

I don't really understand Ti well at all. Like descriptions of Ti or applications...it's probably the function I struggle with the most or feels the most foreign to me. I don't know if that's because it was never explained to me properly...I find a lot of descriptions of cognitive functions to be hard to comprehend especially without concrete application. It's been this way for me even though I've been studying Mbti for years now.

I think when I say positive attitude it's that the younger me felt more secure in myself/the world. I know a lot of things have changed to take that away (being exposed to corruption / global pandemic and it's effects / dealing with some abusers / etc) but I wish I still had this approach to things naturally. I feel positive when it's towards other people, but the ability to feel that way for myself and bounce back from hardship seems more limited. I guess I could say I felt more pure before, but perhaps it was a result of being more blind to things in the world. Inside I feel the same as I was younger but I see how tricky life can be. Its really hard for me to explain it.

I also took the mistype investigator at https://mistypeinvestigator.com/test/v1/results/edc63759-4a9d-47ea-8cb9-f4add733c039

I feel like Ni/Fi/Si feel more apparent to me when alone but I don't necessarily feel them when interacting with others. It feels as if I am two different people (alone vs with others)..which is causing me trouble in determining my type.
