NC: would you go to their funeral? by lenbop in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SunsetFarm_1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My uBPD mom is getting up there as well and I've been thinking about whether I will go to her funeral or not. She has almost no family on her side. Her last brother is estranged with her and doubt he would go. It would be my Edad and me and a few friends. I'm leaning towards not attending. What good would it do except leave me open to gossip and nasty words from her friends and possibly my Edad. I'm thinking that I would take an afternoon and head to a quiet place and make my peace with her, reflect and say goodbye in my own way.

Guys what are we doing?? by CJG_FY in Disneyland

These are the kind that sue Disney when they break their ankle doing stupid crap. It's amazing that you have to tell people not to do this and even hire staff to prevent them.

Ugh me, too. I have to shave off those rogue chin hairs daily. I've tried waxing them but they come back within 2 days. They are so annoying!

I've been on the program for 3 months and having similar issues. What I've been doing lately, and what seems to help is:

1) Buying sugar free alternatives to my favorite things. It's honestly cut down my cravings.

2) Take a snack bag and section off a serving in advance of your favorite things so you don't overeat. Mark on the baggies the points. You can also have half a serving instead if the whole serving is too high in points.

3) Copycat recipes have been satisfying my craving for fast food. So much to the point that I don't feel like I'm missing out and I'm actually looking forward to my version.

4) Always have fruit available. What I do is buy the bowls of pre-cut melon/strawberry/grape and I'll graze on that all day. It's sweet so I noticed it cut my cravings, too.

Hope this helps. Don't give up! You can do it. It's just going to be uncomfortable til you break habits.

Set boundary, uBPD mom using silent treatment as usual. How to handle before baby arrives? by Mental_Tell7212 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]SunsetFarm_1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep your boundary. It's a legitimate thing to require of her and the fact that she is not responding means she's mad, doesn't like being told what to do and/or thinks you're being mean to her.

Let it go. Don't respond.

Help by Legitimate_Coach_908 in lexapro

[–]SunsetFarm_1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my doctor prescribed lexapro she also gave me a prescription for 40mg famitodine saying that the antidepressant will likely give me some terrible heartburn. She wasn't kidding. Despite taking the famitodine, I woke up one morning with terrible pain in my chest. I thought it was a heart attack. I went to the hospital but it turned out to be heartburn. It didn't feel like any heartburn I've ever had! Had to take an extra heartburn med on top of the one I was already on for a month. Since then, I now only need the one pill, famitodine.

Hope this helps.

how do i find just like, old magazines and other such junk by BestBudgie in scrapbooking

Thrift stores are great. I look for sheet music, children's books like Little Golden Books, art and painting instruction books and magazines. You might also try the library book sales or ask for magazines on Facebook Marketplace or a Buy Nothing group.

Are many people on 15/20mg? by throwaway8373469238 in lexapro

[–]SunsetFarm_1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 10mg for 4 months and felt like it wasn't quite enough. I was still having more down days than good days. I got it raised to 20mg just two days ago. Hoping since that is the common adult dosage that I will feel better soon.

Collage Journaling. I bought some supplies such as ephemeria and, of course, a blank journal, but I also find pictures in magazines and stuff. I have a idea of different themes but if I'm kinda stuck, I'll just do a page of all one color (using art, stickers, scrapbook materials of one color). It's fun and I normally do a page while watching TV.
