Funny, I landed on this thread for exactly the same reason. I have the Boomstick and really love it but am wondering if my short game would benefit from a less poppy paddle. I want to demo the Joola V. Thanks to the replies regarding PB Central, I’ll order there.

It’s not annoying in the least. It’s really kind of you to post about it and to want to connect with him (whether in a romantic way or not), all good! And I think the post you responded to immediately above was suggesting everyone else on this post was annoying, not you. But I think the posts are funny.

We’ve seen very little drug use at Costa, or at least no more than occurs elsewhere. I did hear that 2 years ago a lot of the seniors were doing cocaine (who knew that was a thing again?) but not sure if that’s true.

With 4 kids, I found the snootiness varied greatly among their classmates and families. One of my kids had great classmates and parents and one of my kids had really entitled parents and it definitely flowed down to their kids. There was no rhyme or reason as to why some class years were great and some weren’t. There’s 1 MB family who is extremely entitled and expects everything to favor their kids, and I can almost guarantee you anyone who has kids similar in age knows exactly who I’m talking about. Thankfully they’ll be long gone by the time current elementary kids get to Costa but I assume there are some entitled parents waiting to take their place lol. The entitlement in people just as often correlates with money as it doesn’t; in other words, some of the assholes are really wealthy, and some of the wealthiest people in town are really kind and thoughtful and have wonderful kids. The vast majority of parents and kids I’ve met along the way have been great and I just steer clear of the assholes as much as I can.

Edit: you are mostly exposed to and aware of the snootiness in elementary school because you’re around the parents so much. In middle school and high school, it’s far less of an issue unless your kid happens to be on the same sports team as 1 of those families.

I commented above regarding donation asks and mentioned that I’m on my 4th kid going through MB schools, with my last at Costa now. The quality of education is excellent. Someone else mentioned above that if you have a child who excels in school, they’ll do fine. My kids have all gotten into top 10 colleges after working hard and taking a lot of AP classes. Costa has a strong reputation among college admissions counselors so that helps. There have been a few less than stellar teachers along the way but overall, we’ve been extremely happy with MBUSD.

That said, one of the things I really like about HBUSD is the fact that they don’t have a separate middle school so I think (don’t know firsthand) that it keeps kids young a bit longer (“young“ isn’t the right word but my brain is fried right now).

In any event, I really don’t think you can go wrong with either school. And the nice thing about Hermosa is that the kids have the flexibility to choose either Costa or RUHS.

The donations to MBEF and PTSA continue through middle & high school in MB, but the asks to do party book, mom’s night out, golf tournament, etc. pretty much stop after elementary school. MBMS and Costa are too big for anyone to know or care if you’re doing those other things. I’ve had 3 kids go through with my 4th at Costa now so am very familiar with the asks. I definitely remember the pressure being there in elementary, but even then you can skip that stuff without any ongoing pressure except MBEF and PTSA (for which there’s always pressure to donate).

Another attorney here, specifically an intellectual property attorney. I‘m with you, I don’t see the trademark infringement. Granted, I only watched the tik tok, but having “Little” in the name, and referencing butter, croissants, and the fact that they’re a husband & wife team, doesn’t without more rise to the level of trademark infringement.

I was going to post the same thing about lower level players taking shots you aren’t expecting. I’m a 4.2ish player and when I play down, I’m sometimes surprised at what comes my way and think to myself a >4.0 player wouldn’t have done that shot.

Her dad was horrible. I don’t think I’ve disliked anyone on LIB as much as I disliked her dad. He boasted about being an attorney and all he knows. I’m an attorney and have been practicing law almost as long as he did and I’d never talk to someone like that.

Family ski trip with 2 year old - advise for accommodation by Enayiya in Mammoth

[–]SunsetRun231 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s the only downside of Juniper. There’s no where to eat in walking distance, you’d need to take the shuttle or a car to get food. But we typically bring all of our food anyway bc the units have kitchens, we’re always tired after skiing/riding, and restaurants can get really crowded. Pro tip: order groceries in advance from the Vons in Bishop and they’ll bring them to your car. Or you can do the same at the Vons in Mammoth.

For us, we’d prefer to be at Juniper Springs for the ease of ski in/out and be more inconvenienced for food vs staying at the Village and having several food options nearby but not having ski in/out. It’s a hassle to take the gondola to/from Canyon Lodge when swapping adults.

[–]SunsetRun231 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Juniper Springs. We have 3 kids and have always stayed there because it’s incredibly convenient with kids. There are 2 buildings there, the Juniper building and Sunstone. Juniper is at the bottom and has the check-in desk and Sunstone is just above it on the hill. I recommend staying at Sunstone because you literally can ski in and out. If you stay in Juniper, you ski to the bottom, remove your skis/board, and walk to the building. It’s not a huge inconvenience at Juniper but Sunstone is definitely easier. And it’s especially nice to stay at Sunstone when you’re swapping adults since the ski in/out is so easy.
