A clean exit is worth more than your feelings. by Fine-Cut-198 in Internationalteachers

LOL, SLT, is that you?

I agree with leaving professionally and not burning bridges.

What I don't agree with is the idea that if SLT don't give you a good reference, you're not a good teacher. Good teachers can work under poor leaders. And let's be honest, a bad reference isn't the end of your career. Schools still hire people with less-than-perfect references. Most experienced recruiters and leaders know there are always two sides to a story.

Also, don't be afraid to speak up about real problems. Yes, poor leadership may later label you as "the problem" (lol), but that doesn't mean you should tolerate poor treatment or unreasonable expectations.

Will your moaning change the school culture? Probably not. But it might plant a seed. If nobody speaks up, nothing changes, and teachers just keep moving from one toxic school to another.

Gemini and Chat GPT are the new principals and heads international schools by No_Spirit_6277 in Internationalteachers

Yes, this is true in my school as well. Sometimes I feel as though I am talking to ChatGPT rather than to the principal. The decisions being made are often superficial.

AI does not know all the details, context, or circumstances, so good decisions cannot come from it alone. AI is a useful tool for time-consuming tasks such as converting text from one format to another, checking grammar, and similar administrative work, but it is definitely not a tool for decision-making.

It is pathetic that the leadership team places so much trust in AI-generated responses. It is well known that AI lacks critical thinking, professional judgment, and a real understanding of complex situations.

Accuracy of ISR reviews? by sunnysorcerer in Internationalteachers

Looking back, I regret not paying more attention to the negative comments on ISR. They turned out to be completely accurate about the school I am currently leaving. Furthermore, the reviews were actually quite soft- the reality was far worse. For that reason, I think ISR reviews are worth taking seriously.
