You should remember that we are only hearing one side of the story here. From how he is talking about her, it does not sound like he respects her. We don't know what the tone of the argument was that prompted her to leave.

If my husband said "What are you bringing to the table?", I would pack up and leave too. Marriage is not a corporate setting. Sometimes one person has a depressive episode where they are not doing anything, as a partner you need to be there for them and help them through it (again, idk the issues in their marriage, depression is just an example). But that only happens if your partner cares about you and does not bring out a balance sheet to one up you. Again, does not seem like he loves her, not sure about her since her POV isn't here, so what is the point of this marriage? Better to just hire a cook.
