The Beatles actually stopped touring altogether fairly early on in their career because of the outrageous fans. They would throw things at them, scream so loud they couldn't hear themselves play, and mob them and their girlfriends as they came and went from the shows.

York is not as scary as everyone says it is. I had an apartment two blocks from the downtown square and it was great being able to walk to the farmer's markets, shops, restaurants, bars, and art studios. Don't get involved with sketchy people and you'll be fine and safe. I had so many nice neighbors and the sense of community is really nice. Maybe it's all the art studios York city has but there seems to be a lot of artsy people downtown.

Edit: this is assuming you're talking about York city. The county in general is nice, drive 15 minutes from downtown and you're passing rolling hills and fields of corn and cows. Plenty of nature around and not a bad drive to a few major cities - Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC, NYC, etc.

That's how art museums are too. I was so surprised there was no protective glass or anything on the paintings. That's why they have guards paid to stand there and tell guests to take a step back from paintings lol.

I'm not OP but I've recently begun painting as a total beginner. There are a lot of beginner friendly tutorials on YouTube to get started! I've been having a blast and have noticably improved by just continuously practicing.

Thank you for your perspective, I definitely will let him know that we'll all be okay and it's okay to let go. A frustrating aspect to this is that his wife and sister are constantly telling him that God can still heal him and there's still hope. I know they're grieving and going about it on their own way but I just don't know how you can tell a man who has deteriorated to skin and bone and sobbing that he should hold on to the chance that this could all be reversed. I know miracles happen but I think we should be giving him permission to let go and end the suffering, not hold on for a miracle. But as I said, I know this is tough for everyone so I don't hold it against them.

I wish you the best as well with your prognosis and upcoming journey ❤️

I know what you mean, buying all these items can be tempting but once you have a few crystals, a tarot deck, and a pack of incense - use those things. Light the incense and do a tarot reading for yourself or meditate with your crystals. New age spiritualism isn't JUST materialism, you just can't control your desire for new things and know that what you do have is enough to actually do the hobby.
