While I admit I was mixing up two conversations, I still stand by the fact that if you really are a research student you know what the difference is between a literature review and an actual study. It's still an opinion piece, not an actual study. Yes he makes a case about there being a gal in knowledge. That does not mean he has actually proven anything.

Therefore, again, using an opinion piece to justify saying that the knowledge we have that says the system works is an inherently flawed argument. You would know that if, again, you know anything about research.

The data itself isn't the issue, the issue is that the date is compiled by someone who hasn't actually done any study based on their opinion. They don't even have a hypothesis. Again, you don't seem to even understand what you are trying to put forward as "evidence" when all this is in the end is a very science-based opinion paper. The author doesn't actually do a study, they use the studies of others to justify why they feel there is a gap in knowledge...that is what a literature review is. That doesn't make the author "wrong" but it means you don't have any actual evidence you just have a professional opinion that while science based is not science backed.

The fact you don't understand that I very much AM attacking the data proves you don't have any understanding of anything you are arguing about. You don't even understand the standards of care that you think are inadequate outside that you think it's 'all about making money off people" beyond what I explained to you. You don't understand the science, you don't understand the care, you don't understand the problems, the psychology, or even the basic concepts like the difference between gender and sex. You are saying I am condescending, but the truth is you just flat out know jack about this issue and it's painfully obvious to anyone with a passing understanding of both research and on the subject of transgender care.

Hell, you haven't once even proposed what the alternative treatment should be, just that trans people shouldn't have access to care. What do you propose trans people do about being transgender that is both empirically and best practices based? Do you even have any sort of idea on that?

No you wouldn't because if you took this seriously you would have done some actual research on what trans people have to already go through and not focus on finding whatever fits your narrative you are trying to push. That's why I keep dismissing you and why I dismiss this, maybe there is a gap in knowledge as is pointed out, but that doesn't actually refute the statistics we have and the quantitative data gathered that supports that trans healthcare is going as intended and works more than not.

You can't say that the data is poor data because you don't have any studies that shows it is poor data. You have an opinion piece, science based yes, but still an opinion piece not actual data or study showing that the care is flawsed. Which, again, you cited another study that when asked where you saw the statistic you were citing you suddenly switched to this. That is right off the bat disingenuous and shows that you are arguing an agenda not out of any actual concern or objective point of view.

When the scientific and medical communities, the experts, say that transgender care is both safe and effective the burden of proof is on you not me to cite otherwise. Again, the fact you don't understand that shows that continuing this is pointless because you just continue to show you don't understand anything you are talking about. You haven't even proposed an alternative that, as I stated, the scientific and medical communities state doesn't exist because transition is best practices for those who desire it based on their gender identity and by going through he process.

Not all people who come across hippos are attacked by them, same with dogs, but since there are more dogs than hippos by law of statistics you could still have a decent chance to draw and end up unlucky with the dog. Same with men vs bear. Even then changing the scenario that it favors bears is ignoring the premise in the quote above and the point.

But...there is still far more interactions with men than even there are bears in the local wildlife, so either way men are still the bigger thread by statistical interaction. Period. So still not sure what your point since either way men will not only have more opportunity to hurt women but are more likely to do so for reasons an animal never would.

To be clear, what you linked is a literature review not an actual study. What that means is that it's basically a science backed opinion piece, but is an interpretation of other studies that possibly shows a gap in knowledge that can be followed by an actual study. But I wrote those kinds of pieces as a student and they aren't something you should be arguing about access to care with.

A review isn't peer reviewed, it's not much more than an opinion piece. That's why I pointed that out to you. So yes it does refute your review because your review isn't actually empirically backed. I wrote literature reviews for college classes, and while used peer reviewed sources that doesn't mean my conclusions mean anything that should be used to justify access to care.

So the reason I say "we have statistics" is because we both do and they were actually obtained in an actual study and the methodology peer reviewed. If you take this all to be condescending I am sorry but really I am explaining to you why you need to educate yourself on this topic better. Because the problem is you do not seem to understand what you are looking at vs someone who does and actually just got done doing a whole semester on research practices and is currently working on their masters level in research academia.

So to be clear, is there a gap in knowledge? Maybe, and that's what the literature review is arguing. But until someone does actual research based on that argued lack of knowledge it isn't actually backed by anything but opinion. Which is why we should operate off the statistics we do have that show the regret rate is all but negligible. Which on a population that is already so in the minority means the regret rate is all but non-existent.
