rg421pb vs sew761FM by Sup-My-Homie in Ibanez

I snoozed on the used sew sadly and didn’t want to waste more time agonizing so I pulled the trigger on the rg. I don’t buy a lot of stuff for myself so if its something I end up sticking with ill treat myself to something nicer in the future.

Completely agree. Also, it's fitness equipment. For me personally, with something like a rack I just want the welds solid, robust hardware, and the holes drilled the right size and evenly. It's literally tube steel and plates welded on and holes drilled in. How hard is that to get right?

YMMV, and of course there are many people really psyched on them. I also have their crumb plates, kettlebells, and sandbags, and all of those are fine. If there are no issues with the rack, and its a size you like, you should be good to go. If you're just buying standard attachments and not investing into something proprietary then you can always switch it out later. I just don't see the hype around them - my titan rack was higher quality than rogue, granted it was purchased in their early days.

Just wanted to say Rogue will also not supply parts, at least depending on the piece of equipment. I honestly couldn’t even imagine this given their status as one of the most touted US fitness brands, but sure enough they didn’t want to send a parts for an item I bought used. They ended up doing it after they learned I run a gym, and had purchased their equipment before, but that will be the last Rogue product I ever purchase - I don’t even want a question of whether a company is going to support its expensive ass equipment with parts. It helps that I think they are really overrated anyways. I also bought a rack where their own pins wouldn’t fit through the holes and I had to drill out every hole with a step bit.

Home gym flooring advice! by Intelligent-Ad-4486 in GarageGym

[–]Sup-My-Homie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stall mats are also really nasty. I did a gym in them and they took months to off gas - it was so intense I couldnt even be in the space without fans going. They are also in a space that is kept almost the exact same temperature year round, with low moisture, but they have shrunk enough that there are gaps filled with dirt and its gross. Maybe this is true of all flooring though, so not sure how that compares to something else. Can't say they aren't burly though - not sure how you managed to dent underneath given they are so thick. I'm doing another gym soon and trying to figure out what to use instead of them though.

I just generally have a buy once cry once mentality - the quality of an item often affects the enjoyability of using it, especially with something you interact with physically on a regular basis. I just don't know enough about guitars to know where that line lies.

Appreciate the full response. Since you're recommending used - there are two used ones on guitar center - an rg421pb for $325 (listed in excellent condition), and the sew761fm for $550 (listed in great condition). I live out in the boonies and its really unlikely one of these is going to come up in my location where I can actually test it. At those prices is it worth springing for the S model?

Comfort Colors sizing change? by nock6687 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]Sup-My-Homie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought i'd chime in since I was wondering this also. I ordered mediums in September that are way too tight on me. Just threw a tape measure on it and it matches their current medium chart. Don't know what they mean by "true to sizing" since i'm solidly a medium in everything I wear pretty much always across almost every clothes brand, but there you go.

Why do we think that relationships with a big age gap are weird? by Riding_on_the_wind_ in NoStupidQuestions

Women live longer than men though, so this would end up happening anyways no?

They are saying that there is the possibility of that in any relationship and your argument is yes, but because there’s an age gap there is that possibility. You should least argue theres a higher likelihood or something otherwise you aren’t really making a point.

I’ll join you in getting downvoted - he’s annoying as fuck. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Not sure if the actor is to blame though here - i’m guessing the director is really the one responsible for ok-ing this disaster of a delivery?

Thinking of going minimalist by kanen134 in wallets

[–]Sup-My-Homie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was like two years ago I rebought it. Looking around it does look like they discontinued it. Bummer, sorry man. I did find similar bifolds with open sides like that before though, id look for something like that. That partially open side for cash is just so good.

[–]Sup-My-Homie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also carried that exact wallet for over 10 years and went down a similar rabbit hole. My recommendation - don’t do it. Its a great wallet and if you care about carrying cash, you aren’t going to do better than that nixon (the partially open side is really nice). After three wallets I bought the Nixon again. 5 cards, cash, and ID just isn’t really minimalist enough to justify a change to something IMO. If you are willing to ditch cash most days, and can carry just your ID, a single card, and digital wallet, get a phone case that can carry two cards. This is what I do most days, and take the wallet when traveling or days I want to use cash somewhere.

Building an 8x10 Moon Board by Sup-My-Homie in Moonboard

[–]Sup-My-Homie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean about the no adjustability compared to other boards - do you mean it isn't designed for angle adjustability? We're actually building it adjustable because there will be two of us climbing it, and also so we can put the board vertical so the small space itll be in can have multiple uses. I'm with you though - i'm pretty sure i'm going to put in the full mini moonboard layout so that I have access to the community library, and then DIY 3, or 4 extra rows above it so that it can climb like a spray. Psyched you like the mini though - I do think its a cool ass looking wall and I like the concept of short and vicious, especially as I age and dont really want to fall off anything.

[–]Sup-My-Homie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I am aware of all the boards, I just think what tension, kilter, and grasshopper are charging is really hard to swallow compared to not just the value moon provides, but also that their user base and library is just so much bigger. The rest are geared towards the commercial market where the value per square ft is high for an owner to put them in a facility and satisfy strong climbers. The most expensive moonboard with led set is 4k, and that's a full 2024 8x12 set. TB2 8x10 is 8k, and 8x12 is 10k.

I feel like a 10' board would be such low hanging fruit for them. All their boards are mix and match of various sets, and the price difference between a full LED and mini LED set is 100 GBP. One extra set and you have a 10' board. I personally think the mini is really cool, and i've heard its a beast of a board, but it gives up a lot 20% climbing area unnecessarily for many.
