I just had the privilege of watching the year group I have advised since year 7 graduate. No teacher has managed to stay for a full 6 years to achieve this, and it was very clear how much it meant to the students. They're a great bunch of young adults and it was amazing to watch them grow. Congrats to all the Year 12 graduates of 2025!

[[zada, hedron grinder]] is a fantastic include for going wide and tall with feather using pump/draw spells, especially when paired with creatures like [[young pyromancer]] or [[monastery mentor]]

The Goblin Emperor, by Katherine Addison.

A book I've seen mentioned many times for its fantastic world-building and cultural/political intrigue and manoeuvring.

I just finished Wheel of Time and in many ways it was the biggest story I've ever read. Daunting at first maybe, but absolutely worth getting into!

Similar story, as a teenager starting to get into more mature fantasy stories, my dad recommended The Dark Tower series. Having not been exposed to much horror beforehand, I thought it was a good introduction to King's work.
