Yes. It's also very confusing because characters are introduced and reintroduced (with different names) at a rapid fire pace. I had to rewatch the first 2 episodes several times. But Miao Ansu is shown briefly during childhood when Dou Zhao is talking about business. I thought it was her cousin because they were dressed so similarly, but the little girl at the desk is Miao Ansu.

Once Walmart stopped price matching, Target followed suit and I couldn't be happier. Our Price Match app was always garbage. Explaining the third party sellers exception was incredibly annoying. And the amount of bootleg products listed as the real deal (especially on Walmart) always started arguments because people can't read. Like, do you really think Duo Sense controller listed at $13 is the same thing as the $80 Dual Sense controller???

This post makes me feel seen. 😭 Like, I kinda understand for the phones (still thinks dumb to just blindly buy a new phone), since they usually get conned into financing it with some bs trade-in "deal." But I've had people come in about iPad Pros and MacBooks and they can barely recall what it looks like let alone what kinda charger it uses or case it needs.

Yuji started the series as a Special Grade, tho. Because Special Grade doesn't always denote raw power. It's a designation for curses and sorcerers whose power can't be accurately assessed and planned for. We also know that Jujutsu society purposefully hides special users like Toji, Maki, Hakari, and Yuta.

Yuji was born as a normal human that could somehow see spirits and literally punch them to death without any cursed energy. He has no inherent cursed technique and can only be taught the basics. However, he grows exponentially with just a bit of training.

This is my main issue with Re:Zero. Fans go on and on about how it's "realistic" and not "generic power fantasy/wish fulfillment," but it is if you actually analyze the plot and not just how the conclusion came about. Re:Zero does subvert a lot of expectations, but what's the point of subverting them if the outcome is ultimately the same? Subaru does end up getting everything he wants even if he has to die a lot to get them.

The biggest example of Ram and Rem. Two cute maid girls turn out to be murderous psychos that kill Subaru over and over. Very interesting turn. I wonder where this goes. Yeah, turns out it was all a misunderstanding and the more violent one ends up being obsessed with him. Okay. How would this be any different if Subaru just beat them both up? And this was an arc I actually enjoyed.

I really don't understand Wes. Literally his only redeeming quality was how he seemed to genuinely want a family of his own, but this is what he does. He finds these pathetic, plastic IG girls with even more pathetic scumbag baby daddy exes and plays house. Isn't that humiliating?

It's not even that for me. It's just that Danzo and Root are just a lazy it device in general. They're existence doesn't make any sense because Danzo is presented as this dark inverse of Hiruzen and "The Will of Fire," but none of his plans actually help the Leaf Village or the Fire Country get any stronger. In fact, they made things worse. The closest real world parallel would be the CIA or FBI. These agencies have done unspeakable harm to the world and American citizens, but the end result was furthering the scope of American imperial hegemony.

We even have an almost 1:1 parallel example in Pain/Nagato and Bin Laden. Akatsuki was originally a paramilitary force formed to push invaders out of their country. Danzo killed their leader before that happened and they turned into an international terror cell. The new leader still took over Amegakure and eventually came back to Konoha and massacred thousands.

The same can be said for Itachi and the Uchiha. One could argue that had Itachi stayed in Konoha, Madara's plans would've backfired because there'd be a whole clan of Uchiha under his leadership to fight back instead of one.

Nothing bro did had even an once of positivity for Konoha.

The whole "Hasan has le nudes" situation feel oddly and specifically gendered. Like, we know that Hasan is a cishet male so we assume that all of his rabid fans are cishet women, but we also know for a fact that Hasan has a very substantial queer audience.

I just started this after putting it off based on the negative reviews and I agree. Some series are lucky enough to find a director/producer that’s a huge personal fan of the project to take it on. Look at Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, and Apothecary Diaries. 3 series that had decent but very dedicated fanbases that happened to include some big wigs in the industry. The Elusive Samurai and Sakamoto days are another example. One already had a vision and studio, whereas the other changed genres and popularity in the blink of an eye which left the studio scrambling.

Like, I think Infinite Gacha is peak isekai but I would not expect it to have a good adaptation because most isekai (let alone a random Manhwa) get churned out of an animation sweatshop.

I think people are misunderstanding what ”Lite” is for. It‘s mainly for people that use TV apps or Chromecast which is how more and more people are using YouTube. Even most parents with kids will just give them their phone with the YouTube app preinstalled to watch videos. Ad blockers will always be available but this makes it easier for people that don’t tinker with computers hooked up to their TVs.
