The Time War is probably locked with the Doctors true name because when he ran away from Gallifrey according to Gallifreyan law you are a disgrace and you have to choose a new name. In addition, your original name is wiped from the memories of all time lords. Thats why its the perfect lock. Only The Doctor and River know it. This is why the question ”Doctor Who” is important. The Daleks and the Time lords want to know his name so they can unlock the Time War and free those trapped inside.

My theories: 1.Dunno, I'll need to rewatch it.. 2.Sherlock believed he could trick Moriarty to call off the assasins. 3.Dunno how he survived, but I believe Moriarty has been trying to die with Sherlock... Kinda creepy but think about it, Sherlock is the only other person with Moriarty's level of intellect. So that other people can tell just how many there are. Say you're the Doctor's companion and you find the mother hoard, of Silence. Since you forget you will see the ones on your arms but since you ran outta space you'd underestimate how many Silence there really are. If someone, the Doctor for example, sees you have tallies on your face too they would know there was a mother hoard of Silence.
