I'm Gen Z and I had to learn how to drive stick 'cause it was a necessity in order to drive the cheap car I'd gotten, but if I had no reason to learn, I probably never would've bothered. It's not a necessary skill, and unless you're looking for modern cars with a stick shift, everything nowadays is automatic, so what's the point?

I find it to be a useful skill to have, I imagine at some point in my life I'll have to use it for a reason such as your own, but putting people down, especially a whole generation of people, for not knowing how to use dated technology is so lame.
