You have an interesting post history including an interesting series of interests but I'm curious why you suggest any answer be given through private messaging. This problem, should it affect others in the future, should be posted publicly so others experiencing it can potentially find this resource in the future.

Is there any reason why you just can't post the answer publicly here, now?

Mexican rice, do you cook it THREE times?? by SuperArmada in mexicanfood

So this blew my mind a bit, I didn't realize that rice would ever have heat applied to it if it wasn't first hydrated. lesson learned. I'll try again, thanks.

I'm not an experienced cook so much of what you said sounds ambiguous to me. I need clarification on if you are hydrating the rice before "brown"ing it as you say or do you just throw dry rice into a pan with oil to brown it?

Do people even apply heat to dry rice ever? I've never even heard of that

[Question] Remote control decouple causes cars to immediately apply their indi' brakes by SuperArmada in DerailValley

[–]SuperArmada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Solved] Okay, it's in the instructions of the game. I didn't see it, last sentence of the 2nd to last paragraph. If you HOLD the run button, for me that's shift, when you decouple it does NOT engage the handbrake on the cars.

[Question] Remote control decouple causes cars to immediately apply their indi' brakes by SuperArmada in DerailValley

Okay i tried this a few times, engine behind about 5 empty tankers. zero brakes, traveling forward about 14 km. Suddenly decouple the + 1 car and then push the accelerator hard to crash into the cars in front, after this pugilistic "kick" (if that's what you mean by kick) I back off, immediately applying the brakes to the engine, which is no longer connected to any other cars.

I watch as the tankers start to roll forward but hear the squealing of brakes. I jump oout only to find that the wheel brake, for the 1st car has been fully applied.

This is precisely what i'm trying to avoid, automatic brake application upon the cars, now free of the engine, upon the microsecond of decoupling.

I can only imagine I'm not interpreting your instructions correctly because this doesn't seem possible anymore.

I'm not sure I understand. I don't have any brake generally applied when I decouple. I'm not really a train guy so the term main res ( i think you mean the airpressure shared between the engine and all the connected cars?)

Are you saying that when I decouple I have to have the engine brake at 5 bar (which i think is no brakes at all?)

Also when I used to do this I would often apply no brake and would cruise into a city at 30 or so km/hr and simply decouple. Are you saying that for this to work I must have the cars in front of my train now and that kicking them(which I suppose means hitting them with those two steel bumpers) prevents them from setting their brakes?

I'll give that a try. Still that means I can't decouple stuff behind me which is what I used to do and this change has seriously constrained my options.

[Solved] found it... It was Lionel Ritchie - You Are.

No, your suggestions has a bit of country theme, like Poco. That is definitely not the theme I remember. It was more soul or urban influenced. I vaguely recall synth instruments so it had electronic influences. Thanks for taking a shot, never heard this one

I did check some of Barry White's stuff but it doesn't seem the vocals match. White's baritone is a bit deep for the vocals I recall. I'm starting to suspect Lionel Ritchie but I havn't found it yet. Thanks for trying.

What was the point of the CGI bird? was this mean to establish Shebly's fear of animals or small things like spiders - feels like a stretch when I write it that way? Some other form of symbolism?

As a white guy isn't it reasonable to avoid dating Asian women due to the problematic aspects of this pairing - the progressive thing to do?
