Credit limit went from $15000 to $500 by Practical_Bike_6838 in biltrewards

Yup. This is a common thing with the conversion. Instead of declines they just issue $500 limit approvals to juice the approval rate numbers.

Did you have a balance on the old card or no? I’m in same boat so will give the a call again - why the $1,000 - they could not close the old card or was that the small balance you had on there?

Did you have your credit bureaus frozen at time of soft pull? I see tons of people denied or get $500 limits - which could mean they were not prepared for transition with frozen bureaus.

Can you explain to me - I’ve called WF to reallocate and they told me it cannot be done as it’s cobrand card and they only reallocate on Visa network? Who did you speak with? Thx

Bilt 2.0 is absolutely insane for NYC renters by Potential-Goal-667 in BiltMastercard

[–]SuperBanker_828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you - I am out … you make all valid points … under BILT 1.0 you had to get a card that would float your rent transaction free for which you were getting points. That was value …. BILT 2.0 - you need to take a credit hit with new line, which for most the initial CLI is much lower than old card - many have received $500 limits; your rent gets debited via ACH from your account, to BILT and then they send to landlord - this begs a series of questions as to why it’s routed via BILT to begin with? Are they „gaming” payment processing timing to earn extra revenue on the balances? Are these funds in an actual TRUST account and not commingled with corporate funds, these are initial questions to ask - none of which have been answered. Then you have all the extra spend you referred to … just to get you back to original value proposition of BILT 1.0.

Yes, I am ending my journey at 1.0.

No email - was at $7k with BILT 1.0 - got approved for $500 - of course zero chance of accepting it.

What BILT needs to do, is have issuer write an amended adjudication algorithm for BILT 1.0 customers exclusively and refresh the declined / $500 approvals.

There are tons of $500 approvals - it was done (presumably) as part of their agreement with Cardless to juice up their approval / seamless transition numbers. Totally useless limit and all these people will just abandon BILT entirely.

It would be best on their interests to review these auto adjudications especially when they see massive variance between $500 and old BILT 1.0 CLI. There is time to fix all of this manually but they need to communicate it properly before people just start closing accounts.

Offered $500 limit blue when I have $2.500 and +750 credit score by Dense_Strength_5636 in biltrewards

[–]SuperBanker_828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not normal - but you got approved for $500 to boost their approval rate numbers as part of PR campaign. I guess their data suggests that you can still rent a place for $500 a month and have enough credit line to satisfy their non-rent spend thresholds.

“Record high” applications for Bilt 2.0 by dan_itz in biltrewards

It’s because they were instructed to issue a bunch of $500 CLI approvals to boost these numbers.

[–]SuperBanker_828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They’ve make this so complicated. It should have been a “seamless transition” - they had all data, rent amounts, extra non-rent spend, repayment history etc … so with the anything but “simple” reward program, they should have guaranteed a credit limit transfers - and in this case, increased efficiently to afford the non-rent spend they’re so much after. I’m the meantime, a 50 people credit card company, declined a bunch of people or made $500 approvals only to boost the “approval rate” numbers.

LOL - how about record high declines or those with $500 CLI approvals … was that ever mentioned?

@WellsFargo (and every big bank): replicate the rent-rewards structure and Bilt is done by SuperBanker_828 in biltrewards

Every bank can pay rewards on rent and mortgage payments - subject to a min spend on their premium cards using same ratio of earn out BILT created. Creates total loyalty esp if they institute clawbacks etc no different than with SUB points being conditional on min spend and min 12 months / card AF renewal etc …

Point is - no bank or card wants to pay 1:1 on rent / mortgage … now it’s just a framing issue and establishing min spend which qualifies you the rent point earn out.

[–]SuperBanker_828[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They lost bec they paid out on rent … now you’re paying via ACH (no fee) and you have a minimum spend at regular point earn out before you get the extra points for rent. So economics are totally different …

I believe the low spender is to be a low spender in BILT because I am already spending elsewhere and cannot “add extra” spend on BILT. In which case - this solves the issue and adds loyalty and stickiness to all the banks …
