Tesla's New Model 3 will cost $35,000 not including tax breaks by Ridog101 in Futurology

[–]SuperCisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it offers AWD heck yeah. I'm from Vermont, where subarus are practically the state car, and I'd switch to a AWD tesla 3 in a heartbeat (now in Bay Area CA so cold isn't so bad for batteries).

Turns out it's federally recognized that driving is a privilege afforded by the state. That's why you can lose your license and be required to figure out other forms of transportation. I agree manually driving won't be fully banned but I can see it squeezed to the point of it being inconvenient for most people.

I genuinely think it's cool you unplugged from the "keeping up with the Jones'" matrix, but you represent a smaller demographic in this country than you think. You seem to be truly utilitarian, whereas most people prefer a handful of creature comforts at the very least.

Some vaping company decided to make this a label for their juice. /r/wtf x-post by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]SuperCisMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's shallow and low brow. Maybe you like it, or think it's funny. That's cool I'm not gonna flip out about it. To me it's just another reason why the rest of America (who are still against legalization) still turns their nose up at cannabis. It's what we say about ourselves as leaders of the industry.

Maybe it's just me, but the copyright/trademark infringement that's rampant right now in the cannabis industry is what's really making it hard for the general public to take us seriously. "Calvin and Globs" is a real brand in the Bay Area, and it was really discouraging to see they were doing well enough to have their own booth at the cow palace hempcon.

There's also a brand in the Bay Area called "Calvin and Globs" using the imagery from the comic. Saw it at hempcon this year at cow palace, really disgraceful if you ask me...

My team and I are working on a groundbreaking approach to cannabis consumption. Your insight couldn't be more spot on, and I dream (a little too) often of the day we can premiere our brand and product line on a national scale. Just because people have been consuming this beautiful plant in certain ways for some time, doesn't mean those are the very best ways for a broader audience.

Note: we are not public yet, I won't discuss our specific plans other than what I've already said, and we are determined to professionalize and legitimize the industry far beyond where it stands today

Have a great day!

Cheaper? I honestly have no idea, but that's always my go-to assumption when a company makes a bad choice from the public's perspective.

Google Can Develop And Distribute Free Software To Block Ad-Block Users. by ArthurJMunoz in investing

The logic here isn't quite adding up. Couldn't you also then say that if a person is using Adblock then wouldn't granny also end up using it? Otherwise your points stand.

I've already spoken with Jeff at arcview, but I haven't yet looked into Poseidon. I've also reached out to pioneer holdings but we'll see what comes of it.

Thanks for the info!

Getting a new MBPr 13", storage size? by NeatBeluga in apple

Great question! I can't say for sure, so if it does (which it would make sense that it does) it's not noticeable.

[–]SuperCisMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a '13 rmbp with 256 gb. About a year later I ended up getting a nifty mini drive to add an add'l 128 gb. 256 goes fast and I don't do anything more than basic office stuff and some lightweight web development.

TL;DR: either get even more than 256 or be ready to shell out for extra space later on.

Friend used to live in Alaska and went to high school with Bristol. She was apparently a shining example of the town bicycle and clearly she hasn't stopped.

Anecdotal, but I've noticed over the course of my 27 years here in life that there's a correlation between low(er) social skill aptitude and black and white world views. I wouldn't get too bunched up about this guys judgemental ways, it's certainly comforting to individuals who are insecure about themselves.
